Hi guys,

I have just been pukey sick, which is why you have not heard from me.  I'm
still rather pukey, but I figured you guys wanted to hear from me...

I had my consult with the cardiologist, and he said there was just nothing
wrong with my heart, which is what he was hoping to find, but had to do all
the tests to make sure  He is the nicest guy ever and wasn't chintzy on his
consult at all, even though it was on a Saturday.

So that is good news, even if I am still having dizziness, even if now it is
accompanied by nausea instead of chest pain.  The ER doc did not check my
esophagus.  That is where the pain might have been from... but then again
that probably would have gotten worse with the nausy problems I've had the
past few days, don't you think?

Have you been checked for acid reflux?
Can cause symptoms like a heart attack.
You can take OTC meds for it.

Yeah, I have had GERD for a long time, but it does not bother me very often.
I was surprised that the ER doc did not even check me for it.  I guess they
start with the EKG, which in my case was abnormal, and then the cardiologist
was right there in the ER, looked at the tracings and took over my case. He
was of course looking intensively at my heart...cardiac enzymes and
monitoring as an inpatient...and then the other tests the followiing week or
so.

I told the cardiologist when I saw him this last time that the ER doc did
not check my esophagus and he made a face...I read it as sort of
incredulance...I felt the same way, but the GERD is a known factor, and the
EKG and the dizziness did sort of indicate that we should look for something
else...

Thanks for your input!

You've been on the same (wihat is it?) trip as a friend of mine.
It was her gallbladder.

Mair,
Sounds like your Doc was a great one.  It's so refreshing to meet one who is
willing to listen and try to figure out what is wrong, have a game plan and
follow through.  I'm new; but would like to join the group.

Hi Sam! Welcome

It is great to have a new person with us!  I am an "old timer" here, and
have been trying to post and keep someone "real" here, as opposed to another
JERK we all know who is ruining our group.  I have had lupus all of my adult
life, a very insidious case that was hard to diagnose, so if this fits you
or anyone you know, you can find help!  I have "lost" so much of my adult
life that it means a lot to me if I can help someone else through my
hard-earned experience.

Sometimes I get off into doing my own thing and simply forget to check the
newsgroup.  I will try to be more faithful, as it looks like we have two new
interested people, and you will find--especially if you block out the
troll(s)--that this is a good, supportive group. I hope that we can get back
some of the other faithful members we haven't heard from...who have probably
been alienated by the misuse of our group.

Ask Questions!

The best of health to you,

Mary
