Poll: Which newsreader are you using?
I'm using Netscape Communicator 4.8 because I don't trust Outlook Express
and prefer "working' with one I also use for emailing.

There's also Thunderbird  http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/
** Note: many news reader software looks like email only, but has a "news"
tab where to put your settings, so you can access newsgroups and use
filters to filter posters, crossposts  topics, etc (see the last link
below for software that is usuable as a newsreader

The German news provider is showing some of the probably most usable,
popular newsreaders (and how to configure them - for the German
newsserver).

I also use Netscape 4.8 but do not have any mail service there.  Even
though it shows an address I must post my other address for E-mail
service. I am pleased with the filters.

40tude Dialog <http://www.40tude.com/dialog/>
Currently under Wine in Ubuntu.

You can usually see what newsreader is being used in the headers, to see
the headers in netscape and many other news readers use CNTL-U.
