I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus in April 2005. I was in so much
pain I could barely move, I could not sleep at night because of the
pain, I was extremely fatigued and was short of breath. I was put on
Plaquenil for a year and then in 2006 they wanted to add another drug
to suppress the immune system, because the Lupus seemed to be getting
worse. I did some reading about immune disorder diseases and diet and
decided to make some drastic changes in my diet rather than take any
more medications that could have adverse side effects. The book I
live by now is "Inflammation Nation" by Dr. Chilton. I started the
diet change in May 2006 and started having improvement in literally
days. I followed the diet for 6 months and continued to improve; I was
doing so good and all of my symptoms went away, that my doctor let me
try going off the meds. I have been off my meds since Dec 2006 and I
am doing great. If I venture off the diet very much I will have a
little flare-up, but otherwise I'm GREAT! My doctor considers me in
"Clinical Remission", meaning my tests are positive, but I am
contolling the symptoms with my diet. I recommend this to anyone that
has any kind of illness!!

Can you give me some more information on this? Is it a new book, or
something that a library may have? I think this is something that I would
like to try.
best regards,
Mary
