In early 1984 Linda was pregnant with our 2nd son. This was when she was
diagnosed with SLE. The GP said that she would need to end the pregnancy
but refered her to to her rheumatologist and a nephrologist before any
decisionns were made.

In November 2006 Linda was accepted at Stanford Hospital and put on the
kidney waiting list there. This last August she started peritoneal
dialysis. Wednesday she recieved a young healthy kidney from her 23 year
old son. Both are doing very well and Brandon is back home.

Thank you Janers and Shelagh. It sounds like she will be coming home late
this afternoon. This has been the greatest Christmas present in this
household!

On arrival at the hospital Linda's creatinine was at 11, not terrible for
someone on dialisys for 5 months. 14 hours after surgery it was down to
1.8, a day later to 1.08 and yesterday morning 0.9 the lowest it has been
since 1984. We are rejoicing here.

Thank Goodness she saw the Rheumy and Neph doctor before throwing away her
"new Kidney"
I hope that doesn't sound bad...I just mean...Thank Goodness we don't listen
to every doctor..And Praise the Lord For Brandon and the gift of life...
Praying that they both live long and wonderful lives...
Hugs Cindy
