Where are these people coming from and what compels them to leave their
spam rubbish here?
My filter file is loading up fast.
They have been told repeatedly what folks think of the blather, but it
still keeps coming in different wrapping!
Now I feel better.
So be it.

Part of your problem is the lack of good filtering ability in your reader.
Netscape 7.2 is old and insecure as well.
I downscore all posters from googlegroups and then upscore those that are
legitimate here. Of course that means that I will not see new GG posters
that have reasonable questions and comments for this group. Currently I am
not hiding downscored messages.
I'm on a new computer and have not gotten everything set up yet. This also
means that my posting identidy is not what anyone here has seen before. I
decided to give myself a fresh start with filters and much else.

I use Netscape 4.8 It filters threads really quick.
I don't filter single posters - too many - just skip over them.
The filter folders for "singles" are editable, so I can delete one out,
then add another, or if the poster changes email addresses, est that. Looks
like 5 (posters)can be put in each folder. I don't know the limit of
folders (see below)
So a person could create and name the folders by date (month/yr). Then
delete the oldest 2 or 3, to start fresh.
I got 4.8 here http://browser.netscape.com/downloads/archive/
It worked fine on XP. Works fine on Win 98 and I see one for MAC there.
I use it and Mozilla browser.
I did try the email program that came with Mozilla. It wouldn't work with
the munger, so I gave up, so I cannot say if there would have been
conflicts having two email programs open at a time. There were no error
messages after opening each and being side by side.
Teabag (Tim) uses Xnews - Tried it, not bad, but never figured out the
filtering, tried many times. So did another person I know. She still uses
it, but can't the filters figured out at last word.
There's other free newsreaders. I think a lot of people like Agent / Free
Agent, but I've never used it.
I have a list somewhere and more; one downloaded but not installed nor
tried yet.
Say the word, and somebody'll find you a list
