Oh yes! Today was the "Big Day." It happens every three months, that I
make the pilgrimage 70 miles south to The City by the Bay to see the best
darned clinician this area has.
Mister Doctor was in a wonderful mood, which makes communing with "Oz The
Great and Powerful" a lot less intimidating. We got through with the
examination/questions/changes part quite easily, but I was almost terrified
to bring up this paperwork issue that I have had.... because it has almost
had a "jinxing effect" upon my doctors...meaning that I give them this
paperwork (it's a process of discharging my student loans because I am
deemed "ill" and don't make enough money to pay them), and the next thing I
know, the doctor is gone, retired, flew the coop, or whatever, not there to
complete the process that the Loan People need. So I looked pleadingly into
his eyes and said "you are not going to retire, are you?" and he said "yes
indeed, I have already retired and have been called back! I only work three
days a week now." He is such a b*llbuster, I could never see him actually
being retired. What, hanging around the house making birdhouses? Doing
blood tests on the pets? Lots of flyfishing time! LOL.
Usually the trip to UCSF utterly exhausts me and I am sick for at least a
day afterward; more like two days. But I took it much slower today...
allowed an hour more time... took food with me, and my choice of legal
stimulant to keep me from falling asleep at the wheel. I did leave Pigmet
home this time. I'm sorry about it, but you know how the little ones can be
so exhausting at times....:-)
But I am sure that I will have no trouble sleeping *many* hours tonight.
Health and Peace to all of you,
Mair

Yes, it sounds familiar. I have been trying to get approved for
disability for five years now (the lupus was found in 1999) without
success. The docs are great until you bring out the paperwork. I'm
sure they get all kinds of people trying to scam them on a daily
basis, but unfortunately, it hardens them against those of us with
legitimate complaints. I continue to work, but each day is a struggle,
and in winter especially, I am so stiff in the morning that just
getting moving is a real chore. Take care, M

I am sorry that you are having such a hard time with your disability case. I
will tell you the truth: It is usually much easier to receive your
determination based on another illness you have. That is how I got my
disability determination. Also I called the caseworker who was going to
evaluator my case every week.
Please feel free to come back and hang with our group
The best of success to you
