Has anyone had the instance of waking in the morning with the pillow
covered in blood? I have had two such instances and yes feeling a bit
scared about it. Don't have a Dr appt until next week. Mouth full of
blood.....no I don't think I bit my tongue...atleast there is no sign
that I did. The blood is fresh......rinsing mouth provides....phlegmy
but loose groups of blood.
Any input would be greatly appreciated....everything I have found
online mentions lung infections which I don't have at the moment but
do have quite often due to.... COPD?
I also posted this in the fibro group for input if anyone reads that
group......

Do you get nosebleeds, too?
I haven't had an experience quite as messy as yours, but a few
times I've woken up with blood in my mouth. I've also had it
happen while I'm awake and standing or sitting. I think the
bleeding is related to whatever gives me nosebleeds; it's just
that I spring a leak further back in my nasal passages, and then
the blood drains into my mouth and throat.

Don't wait till next week. It could be a lot of things, including your
lupus flaring up. I do get some bleeding from the gum tissues - I had
to have gum surgery because of the lupus inflammation interacting with
a lifetime of substandard dental care. . .good luck to you. Don't
delay. M
