I'm getting a dog! She's a boxer.  The city where I live picked her up and
she is living in "doggie jail" right now. She gets out on  the 17th of this
month. The city will spay her and give her shots before I pick her up, but
she's mine! I've paid the city the required fee to adopt her. She's
emaciated and will require special food and mealtimes. I go to her daily and
spend some time with her. I can take her into a fenced area behind the
building. She seems to know who I am already. She's met my youngest
daughter's family and will meet the other daughter when I bring her home.
I'm so excited. I think we need each other.

Good for you, and good luck with the boxer.  Have you had one before?

Years ago I had supper with a couple who had three boxers.  The dogs
had disagreements if all three were in the house, so one was put in
the yard and we thought all was okay.  We were eating in the dining
room with the dogs under the table when a ruckus started.  The table
lifted off the floor and we were grabbing dishes to prevent breakage.
The host and hostess each caught a dog, determined who had to go, and
rotated one dog with the one outside.  When we sat down again, my host
looked at me with a deadpan expression and said:  "I hope you won't be
writing to Miss Manners about this!"

That's my boxer story.

Never had a Boxer.

That's a funny story.

Bev, she's beautiful! Have you named her yet? Maybe a naming contest would
be in order - get some people more involved here? (I'm a culprit myself)
Poor baby. All of my animals are rescued - isn't it pathetic what people do
to these beloved creatures? Yup, you both need each other-she'll give you
years of joy! Good job! Is she in quarantine or something until the 17th?

I named her Alcee. Try calling it (Al- sea) and you'll know why! LOL

Around here they won't let them out until they have been spayed. They won't
do that until she's adopted. Surgery scheduled for Thursday or Friday.
