This is an email that I recieved from Bev this morning...A little more
information than was on the other post...
Seems they have already recieved one Miracle....
All Prayers and Good vibes needed for George...
My wonderful husband for more than 36 years had a massive stroke on Sunday
afternoon. Fortunately I was with him when it happened. The ambulance was
here in less than 5 minutes. One of the medics is a family friend and the
paramedic was one of the best in Suffolk. When he got to the hospital he had
the top ER doc on the Southside. They scanned him and quickly shifted him
over to Va Beach General to a highly specialized trauma unit there. As he
left Obici Hospital I was told he had very little chance of even surviving.
He almost didn't as his heart spotted several times but came back on its
own, but a few hours later he was stretched out in the bed and he crossed
his own feet as if he were taking a nap on the sofa. He was given a 5%
survival. The doctor told us that we needed a miracle for him to get through
this. The scanned him again about 4 a.m. When we saw the doctor in the
morning he smiled and told us we had our first miracle. His survival has
now been upped to 60% as of Tuesday evening, but he is far from being out of
the woods. His condition is still critical. He is on a ventilator so he
cannot speak. They are also keeping him in a state that is close to being a
coma. He seems to know when I am in the room and he can squeeze my hand and
move his toes (when he's not too doped up). These are good signs. For those
that know, the cerebellum (sp?) and the brain stem caught the worst of it
with about 50% destruction in those areas.
George is my rock. He's my hero and he has been since the first day I met
him. We fell in love almost instantly and were married 5 weeks later. We are
still madly in love.
We need a couple more miracles for him to pull through this and be able to
walk, talk, see, think, count to ten, and remember what he did for a living.

Thank you Cindy for sharing.
May God continue to bless George and also Bev as they share this
terrible experience.
I am touched by Bev's account of their love story. Isn't it wonderful
that they have this to carry them through these times?
My prayer is one of thanks for those miracles already received and for
those to come, healing for George and comfort for Bev.

Cindy,
Thank you for posting Bev's latest message. I have been keeping them in my
thoughts and prayers. I have not been the bestest of friends through this
for her as so much is happening in my life at the same time. My husband is
dealing with a massive infection in his knee, my grand nephew was rushed to
the hospital and spent several days in the ICU, and the list just seems to
grow and grow! BUT I am thinking of them and praying.
Hugs,
Sherry

Cindy, Bev posted yesterday on the group.
"The neurosurgeon keeps saying he's doing fine. He has pneumonia which was
expected. He is still on a ventilator but they are talking about weaning him
from it. They aren't saying when; I'm hoping tomorrow. His blood pressure is
very low and they have to get it up to do a MRI on his brain. The pneumonia
is making the BP drop and he never was very high anyway. We know so little
and everything is measured in tiny increments. I have a feeling when they
get the tubes out of his throat and the pneumonia under control we will know
more as he will be able to communicate. I'm so thankful I was here when it
happened. He seems to know us and has done things such as squeeze our hands.
He's such a fighter and he's doing a heck of a job fighting this, too.
Please keep him in your prayers, thoughts, or just send good vibes his way.
He needs another miracle or two to get through this in one piece. They still
have him at a 60% chance of survival.
Thanks"
I have not heard anything else and can't find her sisters phone #.

Sherry
