I would like to hear from everyone what you use as sun protection. I am
asking this with an eye toward sunscreens, but hats and clothes are welcome,
as they are our major defense.
Have any of you used this Bullfrog 36SPF Spray? I just got some, and as
always, have a bit of trepidation to go out in the sun with something new.
But I do like the fact that I am not rubbing cream on myself... I am so
tired of putting on lotions that I could just puke right here
<harf!>--sorry, I tried to hold it, but...
I digressed there...
Sunscreens--any type, and if you can tell me if they are unscented or not.
glad to be back,

Here is one I use faithfully. I have found this vanacream 60 for sensitive
skin. I bought 3 of them and you get a better deal.
It doesn't go on really thick and you actually can rub it in and NOT have
a white look, it fades away. SO far with this one it is great. NONE
allergic too. nothing in it to cause allergy as you find out when you hit
the national allergy foundation site.:

another is coppertone 50 spray. I have tried it on my head, for lesser
lesions. Well it makes for a dull hair spray LOL. so I decided to use it on
my legs wearing shorts. I liked it also and it does give you a beach smell
LOL. But I always did love coppertone smell. The above vanicream does not
have a smell and does not discolor clothes. YOU can also buy that
vanacream at www.coolibar.com and see what specials they offer for it.
But again I USE the SENSITIVE SKIN one.
I have used total block 65 in the past but that stuff is thick as well has
harder to put on. But does work. I switched to vanacream because it goes
on easier.
Years ago I used banana block too.
OH and if you go to the skin cancer foundations site, they have a LIST of
all the sunscreens that are approved for protection by the national skin
cancer foundation. CHECK that LONG list out. Plus it also give foundations
that are good and many other products that are uva/uvb protective.
good luck

I hate rubbing on sunscreen too. I recently bought Neutrogena's Fresh
Cooling Body Mist Sunblock w/Helioplex and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer® Body
Mist Sunblock . Both are availablbe in spf 30/45
My kids love the Fresh Cooling Body Mist as it literally cools the
skin...great on those really hot days
Neutrogena's Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunblock w/Helioplex
Its cooling, continuous spray instantly refreshes as it provides skin with
unsurpassed UVA protection.
It has the patented Helioplex technology that provides unbeatable broad
spectrum UV defense against sun damage.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer® Body Mist Sunblock SPF 30/45 provides
broad-spectrum UV protection in an ultra light sheer mist.
Stabilized with HelioplexT, it provides superior balanced broad-spectrum
protection against UVA-aging and UVB-burning rays in an ultra-light,
non-greasy finish. This weightless formula applies easily to even
hard-to-reach areas. Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock is waterproof,
sweatproof and resists running into eyes. This one-touch continuous spray
works at any angle
For clothes, I order from
http://www.coolibar.com/
www.solumbra.com
I like Solumbra's clothes better as their jackets and shirts have vents so
there's ventilation. Expensive but worth it.

Cabelas is a hunting store and known for guns and hunting gear, fishing and
what ever kind of sport.
we stopped there on our way to South Dekota and believe this> THEY SeLL sun
protective clothing line.
I got a kahki shirt that has long sleeves. The sleeves are also removeable
just above the elbow if the sun goes down or what not. It is a cool like
shirt and I believe they have them on line at www.cabelas.com
the clothes contain a product that rangers wear and guides. It is 39.95
and comes in pink, blue, kahki (sp) and a different yellow color. Called
Guidewear shirt. Lined with cool max that keeps you coold and moves
moisture away from the body also has durepel in it to repel moisture. I
will try the shirt but this is all what they told me at the store. It is
suppose to be sun protective as well. mmm will see.
HOPE it is right LOL

Hi Mair,
My name is Laura and I am new to this group. The right sunblock is
vital and so many to choose from. I live in Florida so it is vital
that I use a good one. My favorite is, Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-
Touch Sunblock, spf 55, with helioplex. It does not feel greasy and
completely absorbs instantly. You really can not tell you are even
wearing it. I read the information from Nicole about the spray. I
love that idea but I can't find it with a high enough spf.
I really found the information on this group very helpful. And it is
wonderful to have people to talk with that understands the world that
I have to live in.

Which reminds me... apparently the European Union have decided that the
term "sunblock" shall no longer be used, as no product blocks 100% of
the sun. This may cross the Atlantic, so look out for changes in the
labels of an unchanged product.

Okay MISTER ANDY, sunscreen it is. I have not been involved in my own
thread cause my telly went down and i have just now gotten it back.
I am using the Bullfrog 36 gel spray, and also I have a wonderful Coolibar
shirt. I try not to tempt fate, however. I love being able to wear shorts,
but I only wear them in the shade or when the sun has gone down.

Gotta love Coolibar and Solumbra clothing. Personally, I like Solumbra
better because it's full of vents... but it's SO expensive.
I just saw a 10$ coupon code for Coolibar.. if you want it, I'll find it.
