Hello all.
It's been several weeks since my last post.  My wife has been hospitalized
twice in a month due to severe pain.
After several MRI's and a change to CellCept, she is now scheduled this
thursday to see a neurosurgeon.
Not sure why, but I guess we'll find out.
Just wanted to vent but not going to yet :)
Terry

Question: anyone else on CellCept and had to visit Neurosurgeon?

Terry,

you vent if you need to. That is what we are all here for, and maybe help
you get some answers as well.

the neurosurgeon can be seen for a number of reasons.  Maybe he or she can
rule out where the pain is originating from and help relieve it.   You have
not mentioned where her pain is so I can't figure out myself why the neuro
needs to be seen.  But I am sure the doc would not send her unless he or
she felt it was worth seeing one.

Can you explain a little more on your wife's symptoms??

thanks
janers
I have not been on cell cept but my doctor had told me she was thinking
about it for me.  Does your wife have kidney involvement ??

Hi Terry,

I take 2500 mg of Cellcept (Mycophenolate) daily which has been very
beneficial to me.  It is an anti-rejection medication and it seems to
confuse these dastardly little lupus antibodies so they quit eating away
at us and causing the pain. (Sounds very scientific, doesn't it?)

With me it causes lower GI tract discomfort so this requires another
type of pills to counteract that. This is mentioned in the attendant
paperwork which comes with it.  Because I take so much stuff I have
starting taking more time to read about the various meds in order to see
which ones do not get along, etc.

I have no knowledge of any parallel between this drug and Neurology.

I am pleased with Cellcept and am hopeful your wife can get some relief
from it's use.

Good luck and best wishes to you both,

George
