This is a stupid question but here goes:
When applying sunscreen, do you apply it to your face before your makeup or
after?
I need it everyday & have no idea!!!
I use moisturizer first, then makeup - when does the sunscreen go on?
Please don't tell me no makeup - I'm 42 ;)

Ok, beauty secrets. Well this will take me awhile LOL
I never wash my face with soap. no lie, just don't...
I put on oil of oley mosturizer first it has a little sun screen in it.
Then wait while I brush my teeth.
Thus it begins :)
I put on the Oil of Oley Complete with 30 sunscreen in it. And or
sometimes just use my vanicream 60 for sensitive skin sunblock.
Then make up? Well a little dab of covergirl beige here and there added
for that HINT of color LOL
Then the mascara, eyebrow and walla...I am done.
LOOKING good ...
NOW If you believe that ending then you know I am kidding.
but that is my routine. I am 61 going on 62 this month. Used the same type
of make up and Oil of Oley since younger. I have had, and don't mean to
brag, but people tell me I have a soft looking face. Just like my mom
did. And what did she use? SAME as I am.
This is not a lie now, honest.
have a good day.

I don't use a moisturizer, but I use a treatment, then the sunscreen,
then the makeup if I'm going somewhere. I like the mineral makeup
because it seems to stay better on top of the sunscreen.

Depends on how your rashes and burns appear. using a concealer in
corrective tones helps.
If your rash is purple use a concealer with yellow tones. That will
cut down the appearance of blue.
If your rash is very red try a green tinted concealer. Green
counteracts red nicely.
Either one, dab lightly over rash. then use foundation. Takes a bit of
practice to get the tone correctors light enough. Try dabbing/patting
with a sponge instead of dragging with your fingers. Much gentler on
traumatised skin.

Probably 99% habit, but this is what works for me:
Wash face and immediatelly moisturise. Let that soak in while I get
dressed etc.
I then sunscreen. I like my neutrogena spf55 ultra sheer dry touch.
They also make a 70spf.
When that's dry it has a good matte finish so no worries about greasy
feel or makeup sliding off.
Then makeup!
I also tend use a lighter moisturiser for day and go all out at night
with Estee lauder's Estoderm emulsion.

I read that sunscreen goes on first then you should wait 15 minutes
and then apply your makeup.

Got to ask some of you.
If you apply the sunscreen then the make up. Do you reapply that sunscreen
or block every 2 hours like we all should?
I usually do especially since I use "little" covergirl on top of mine. But
if going OUT and into the evening, then by no way I reapply, if you get my
drift.....
I actually am bad at reapplying sunblock and have to remind myself with the
tube setting out where I can see, and ONE in my purse.

I too am rarely out long enough to have to reapply. But do carry a
tube just in case. Also hubby and I like for reapplication the misting
sunblock. Some can be extra greasy. But again I like the neutrogena
spf45 cooling mist sunblock.I keep one in the glove compartment too. I
know I'm a bit of a neutrogena commercial but we had coupons and I
fell head over heels!
Anyway a finer mist probably wouldn't mess with makeup like a lotion
would. And I have a feeling if our initial application went well and
had time to set or cure or whatever it would be effective for longer
than 2 hours. We don't wash our face or rub it often like we do with
our hands and arms...

I put moisturizer on first. My theory being that the sunscreen has to
dry to some extent and by then smearing moisturizer on afterward, I'm
potentially removing or weakening the sunscreen. So for me,
Moisturizer, then sunscreen, allow to soak in for about 15-20 minutes
(ideally) then make-up. I use a mineral make-up however so I am not
always so concientious on the soak in part. I don't use a liquid make-
up of any kind. It is important, if putting anything liquid over it
(moisture or make-up) that you do let it soak in for at least 15
mins.
I don't reapply simply because I rarely am out long enough to do so.
Since my make-up has an SPF of 15, at the most I will reapply some of
the make-up if it's going to be a long day. Not the right thing to
do, just laziness.

I use a moisturizes with a broad spectrum sunscreen (saves a step). It goes
on before makeup (which also has sunscreen). If using separate, I apply my
moisturizer, then sunscreen. Haven't found anything to contradict that
order
