I've been taking Xyrem for the last 2 months.  It's WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wake up feeling refreshed almost normal.  It doesn't work every day but
for the most part, it's been heaven sent.
Xyrem is GHB, the date rape drug.  It's only dispensed from one pharmacy in
the whole U.S.... highly controlled.

I was skeptical at first since I've tried so many things that were supposed
to help but Xyrem really has.
Great stuff!!!

How does it work, and what does it help with?  Pain? Fatigue?
I am very interested.  I'm taking Provigil for energy, but by days'
end I'm exhausted & in alot of pain.
Most weekends I have to stay in bed to recuperate from my week, so I'm
open to ANYTHING -- Prednisone helps alot, but has driven my
Triglycerides so high I'm ripe for a heartattack or stroke, not to
mention the pounds it puts on!

Xyrem is GHB (the date rape drug).  It's for sleep (which if we sleep
properly, we'll have more energy and less pain).  I take Provigil also.  I
haven't had to use as much since starting the Xyrem.  I was taking 200-400mg
bid... at times, adding another 100mg in the late afternoon if I absolutely
had to stay awake.  Also, when taking the Xyrem, I can't take any other
sedatives... so that's a handful less of pills I'm swallowing which is a
good thing.
The drugs.com site mainly discusses all the potential problems with Xyrem...
just like it does with opioids.  Trying to scare us away.
www.xyrem.com is a much better site.

Xyrem is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of narcolepsy, to:
¤ Reduce too much daytime sleepiness
-- Excessive Daytime Sleepiness occurs in 100% of Narcolepsy Patients
¤ Reduce cataplexy (weak or paralyzed muscles attacks)
-- Cataplexy occurs in approximately 60% of patients

You can get Xyrem only by prescription.  You must get it through the central
pharmacy.  Before you first receive Xyrem, your doctor or the central
pharmacy will confirm that you understand how to use the drug safely and
effectively.

*******It's very restricted and only dispensed by one pharmacy in the whole
U.S.  It's very sedating and at a MUCH lower dose than what is found in
clubs, etc.  It helps to restore proper sleep cycles.... I have noticed a
big difference when using it.  The only bad part is that you have to take
another dose 2.5-4 hrs after the first dose.... and it also tastes really
bad (incredibly salty).  BUT if it continues to help, I can deal with those
2 inconviences.
So far so good.  Hope it continues.
