Hi,

I have found a terrific website that sells sun protective clothing for
women and I have ordered from them.

I love the outfits I got and my health insurance did pay for it since
it was a medical expense.

Check out www.kristyjuv.com

They also carry a wonderful sunscreen that is broad spectrum and
smells good.

I am surprised at the lack of long sleeved shirts!  It seems to me that
would be one of the first considerations for UV protection. Unless of
course, one was selling sunscreen.
Columbia sells a few SPF-30 long sleeve microfiber shirts at very
affordable prices available at sporting goods stores.
Here in Arizona we hit 100 degrees a couple days ago and it is still
winter! Sun protection is much on our minds.
Good luck,
George

Hi
Is good to hear that there is protection out there for us. As a newbie
to all this, I am wondering what I am going to need to do to protect
myself from the sun. I haven;t had a summer with the lupus and as for
this winter, fluorescent lights are killing me. I have been wearing
50+ sunscreen up to this point and a baseball cap. Does anyone out
there have any suggestions for me to handle the sun, or even the
lights better? I am really having a heck of a time dealing with this
now and summer is coming.
Thank you in advance! I will be checking out these sites as well as a
few other that someone gave me in here a few weeks ago.

I get my sun protective clothing from www.coolibar.com. They have nice
styles. The long sleeve shirts, like the women's big shirt are
amazingly light weight and have vented panels. I am comfortable in
them even in the humid and scorching Florida summers. Suncautions is
another good company. Both these companies make fabric that blocks 97%
of UVA and UVB. There is a great sunscreen from Coolibar. The blue
lizard on the pack turns color when you need to reapply.

Not only can exposure to the sun cause the lupus rashes and legions,
it can acually make systmeic lupus flare, especially the kidneys.

Be safe, everyone!
