Has anyone taken Metoprolol SR (for high blood pressure) along with
Plaquenil ?  I just read the Plaquenil can keep the metoprolol from
leaving the system, yet the pharmacist didn't mention it nor did my
doctor.

I have only started taking it today.  I've been suffering from
horrible vertigo and nauseau.  My BP has been mildly high for a while
(140/80)  but has now edged up to 162/99.  Also, I am mildly
hypoglycemic. (They are still trying to determine the cause of the
vertigo, but said the hypertension needed treating right away - and
could possibly be the cause.)

I do not want to go off the Plaquenil, as I am one of the fortunate
that it has worked very well for me.

Thanks for any input you may have.

Go and talk to the pharmacist and specifically ask him/her.  There are
plenty of beta blockers out there so if you need to change, it shouldn't be
a problem.
