Hi gang, yes the southern states are beautiful this trip and we are
enjoying much of it when I can. I need some help with neuropathy pain
as well as headaches again.
Anyone have info on it beside the lyrica which I tried and made me
spaced out badly and the neurotin that made me have a personality
change.
It is in my feet and off and on in my hands now. Then I do notice the
creepy feeling of something crawling on my lip or ear of face and
nothing is there. The hands get painful and numb or vice versa. This
is not constant but off and on.
I am also having them NICE headaches that a year ago NOV I had blocks
for. Well the block must of putted out cause I got them back. I tried
ice, darvocet heat and more medrol but boy oh boy. Nausea is bad and I
know this is all related to a lupus flare right???? is it???
ok well that is my story and sticking to it. take care all and thanks
in advance

Janers,
Glad the weather is beautiful this trip to the south...now if we could just
get your body to cooperate!!!!!!!
Sorry that it starting up again. I wish that I had an answer for you. My
headaches are migraine and Imitrex or Maxalt usually works for me and I gave
up on something that works for the neuropathy. ( Was feeling like a lab
experiment)
Hope that someone comes up with something that works for them and that you
haven't tried and that will work for you.
Keep us all informed on how you are doing when you can.
In case you missed the post and I know you will want to know. Grace
Casselman's sister posted that Grace passed away in Nov. She was able to
spend one night in her new home before having to go back to the hospital and
all of her family was with her when she went.
Hugs,
Sherry

Hi Janers,
I have experienced both of your current agravations.
As for the creepy-crawleys they just seem to come and go but are more
likely to show up during a period of inactivity. I rub the affected
area and sometimes even shower to get relief. I do not remember this
being a harbinger of a flair. My Rhuemy offers nothing for treatment.
As for headaches I cannot take aspirin so I take potassium. It works
very well for me. As with any recommended remedy one must be cautious
especially if you are a heart patient. (which I am not)
I hope you find a solution.

You had a personality change in your feet and your hands? What, you would,
like, wave to people you didn't know? I am teasing. I understand perfectly
what you wrote.
Have you ruled out sinus for headaches? I take a nasal spray of Nasonex
before I go to bed at night, and I usually don't have the horrible headache
I used to have every morning.
It has been several years now (gee, I musta been on this NG for a loooong
time!), but I thought I was having migraine headaches every day for most of
the month. Imitrex wasn't helping; nothing was helping. Reluctantly, I
upped my prednisone, and "sho'nuf" those headaches went away and it was such
a relief. I am still on a small amount of pred (7.5)--when I decrease more
than that, I seem to flare up *somewhere* in my body...so I have been on 7.5
for maybe two years?
Hope this helps

Back at you. I have heart problems and high bp so I can not just take
potassium and I surely hope your doctor knows you do this also. Too
much potassium makes the heart irritable and can cause irregular beats.
I am also on Flonase but it is not sinus headpain. It starts in my neck
where my fusion is and goes from there into my head from the back. I
packed it in ice and it helped a little then tried heat wrap to the
neck.
Seems the neuropathy might be what is going on as well. I guess I just
will have to try and deal with it like we all do our problems.
thanks all for your suggetions and you guys hang in there.

Janers,
I seem to be experiencing EXACTLY what you are right now. Nothing
really helps, the Lyrica helps me sleep, and I got used to it and it
didn't space me out anymore. It helps the pain more than anything has.
My hands and arms are always bad and we had a cold front last week and
I was in terrible pain for 2 days with heating pads on my arms. I was
moaning and almost crying. The headaches are constant and nothing has
helped. I have the nausea and no appetite and everything too. I'll
probably have to make a trip to the doctor soon. I just don't know
what to do. Sorry I can't help but I can EMPATHIZE!
God Bless.
