Vent on! Also in CA... totally unprepared for the COLD weather. Kicking
myself over vaulted ceilings and lack  of flannel jammies! Hope your
toes stay warm and your legs start cooperating.

Also in Northern California and there is still ice all over the ground.
The ravens are using their beaks to break the ice on their water
bowl.  The cold weather gives new meaning to pain in all of the
joints.  Have new appreciation of what it must mean to lupies
in really cold areas.........    ruth

The Koalas are falling out of the trees as we are in the middle of a
very severe drought and extreme heat. The Gum Trees are not producing
any new, fresh leaves which the Koalas depend on. Koalas don't drink
water.

This cold weather bites!  We are not prepared for it.  I have no flannel
jammies.... but my hubby has sweats and I'm wearing those but have to pull
'em up every few steps.  LOL

This is the valley!  We are not supposed to get this weather.  Looks like
all our produce is gone cuz we've had so many hard freezes.
Around the orange orchards, they have heaters, fans and helicopters flying
(circulates air to try and prevent freeze) and they've watered (if you water
your plants before the freeze, the water freezes around the plant and
insulates it)
But even w/all these attempts, they said the oranges are frozen and we'll
have to wait and see how they react- sometimes they can thaw and be ok and
other times, they look like pears and are NASTY.
My garden is gone!  I threw a sheet over my ficus but brought my canna
inside.  Ficus has frost damage even those it's under the porch.  Thought
about bringing it in but they're so sensitive to movement too.  Keeping my
fingers crossed, I love this tree!  LOL

Did I mention I need 2 root canals and 1 tooth is KILLING ME!  I'm eating
Norco (3 at a time) like candy, using Anbesol and nothing.  I can feel the
enamel falling off.  Lupus has messed up my teeth SO badly.  Makes me angry!
Anyways....
Stay warm
Nicole

Nicole,

I am managing to miss the cold there in the Valley as I'm still in El Paso
at my mom's till Sat. We have had some freezing temps here but nothing like
what my husband and son are reporting from home.  Hope your plants and trees
survive.

Sorry about the dental problems....I can relate to them.  I have literally
watched the enamel fall off of my teeth....so I know what you are going
through and can truly sympathize with you.  I have been known to take a
mouthful of Brandy or some other spirits and hold in mouth and numb the
pain.

Hugs,
Sherry

Forgot to tell you to try outdoor Christmas tree lights on your plants and
trees before you cover to add some heat to them.  I see people do it and
then cover with a heavy clear plastic.

Hugs,
Sherry

I finally gave in to calling the doctor for my restless legs.  Had to
do some testing and even tried drinking the quinine but to no avail the
feeling just wouldn't go away.  He prescribed the Requip and works like
a charm.  I take it just after supper because the evening is when it
starts.  There is a starter pack that works you up to the dose that
works for you.  I have worked up to 4 mg and that has worked.  I feel
like I can sleep peacefully.

I have been suffering from "Restless Legs" for years! As soon as I
relax in order to try to sleep, my egs start jumping. It even wakes me
up if I HAVE dozed off. The only thing I have found to relive it is to
get out of bed and walk around and around and around. I sometimes have
to do this mkany times during the night. I woud do ANYTHING to get some
relief from this. Anyone have any suggestions???

i had this symptom off and on for a few years now. my doctor said there
is actually a "restless leg syndrome" that is caused by an iron
deficiency. i would check with your doctor definitely and get a blood
test, but when i get restless legs now i just take iron and it goes
away. it was the most annoying thing in the world before i found a
cure! good luck!
