Gall Bladder Surgery Complications?

Just over a month ago I had my Gall Bladder removed....I had stones that were
starting to move about and were causing me constant pain.

Following the operation I felt much better and I thought I was making a
fantastic recovery. I had relatively no pain, just felt tired easier than
normal. At time went by i go t stronger and stronger.

Two weeks and go i went on a roundtrip coast to coast. Since then I have had
a lot of pain in the area my gall bladder was located. My stomach on that
side is sore when pressure i applied. I visited surgeon and I was sent for
scans. So far they have not identified the cause.

Generally I look fit, I dont have any other symptoms...I'm just in a lot of
pain.....any ideas what this could be?

Can anyone recommend an effective pain killer I can buy at the drug store?

I had gallbladder surgery 2 years ago.  I was in the hospital for several
days due to a GI problem caused by a lupus flare.  My doctor told me that
people who have had gallbaldder surgery often experience problems with gas.
could it be gas building up in that point of your intestiions?  I know I
never had that much gas before, now I do all the time.  I can't control it
most of the time, it's just like a 80 year old man, I fart as I walk.  oh
well what the hell!!!!!!!!

A over the counter pain pill, that would be your run of the mill things such
as Tylenol, advil, etc.  I don't think they would do much for you.  Maybe if
your pain is bad eneough you should see a pain doctor.  But I don't know
what they would do if they can't find the problem in a film somewhere.  Now
my pain doctor has labled me as "Intractable Pain" which many won't do, but
it has helped me.  But I have pain from head to toe.

Thanks for your thoughts Vance....I dont think its a Gas build up...As my
wife would tell I dont have a problem getting rid of it....Not as much now as
I had at first. She would be delighted to agree with!

Its a sharp pain that I only get when I start moving about. It stays with me
all day. When I wake up in the morning its gone, then after a couple of hours
moving aromud etc....It starts to hurt again.

Its driving me mad!!

Is the pain where you gall bladder was?  You know you could have abdominal
adheasions.
Happens a good bit.  My doctor said he saw some on me when he repaired a
hernia in my
upper stomach, just right below my chest in the center.  My GI system shut
down after that surgery also.  I vomited for 10 days.  couldn't hold
anything down, not even water.  I had IV's going full blast.

Did he do a lap surgery?  If so he should have color photos that they take
in your medical records.  That could very well lead you to something if you
see adheasions in the photos.
