The Lupus Foundation of America is proud to present a series of live
moderated chats featuring the nation's leading experts in lupus as a service
of its new website. This is your opportunity to ask a question and learn
more about lupus from scientific though leaders from a number of medical
disciplines associated with lupus.
Our first chat will feature LFA Medical Director, Joan T. Merrill, M.D.
Dr. Merrill is a renowned lupus clinician and researcher. In addition to
serving as the Lupus Foundation of America Medical Director, Dr. Merrill is
Member and Program Head of the Clinical Pharmacology Research Program at the
Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Merrill
will discuss what's on the horizon for lupus research and treatment. In
addition, she will respond to questions submitted by the public

On Wednesday, December 6, click here or follow the link from the LFA
home page (www.lupus.org) approximately five to ten minutes prior to the
chat. Please enter a nickname in the log-in box that will appear on the page
and then click on Connect. Please note that the login box will not appear on
the page until approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of the chat.
Once you log in, it may take a few moments for the chat window to load. When
the window opens, click on the "Rooms" tab and select the chat with Dr.
Merrill.

Thanks for posting that. I caught the beginning of the live chat and it
was pretty good. I also got the same email from Adrienne. The Lupus
Foundation has gotten the very top people in the field to do these live
chats. Lahita and Wallace have both written excellent patient books.
I encourage anyone who is not a member of LFA to join. Through their
advocacy efforts the Social Security regulations on lupus disability
have been changed.
Over 1 million is going to 22 instutions for lupus research.
LFA provides trained support group facilitators and support groups all
over the country.
