My feet have been hurting. They swell, ache and throb.
I ice and elevate but they still hurt.
Hubby talked to a woman at work who has lupus and has major feet problems-
500$ orthotics. I can't imagine my feet hurting my like hands.
I'm hoping it's just all part of the overall water retention.
Foot pain is horrible!

Well Nicole, welcome to my world of foot problems.
Mine also started out like that with burning and pain then went to more so.
I tried the same as you and also ice. Went to a podiatrist after I was
diagnosed in 99 and the ankles felt like knives were in there. Doc
injected, did the ultra sound treatments, sent me to PT for stretches. Then
rheumy upped my medrol and it seemed to just vanish.
Then on an off the pain started to return. I got inserts in 03 and when a
flare would happen the pain and discomfort of burning returned until my
cortisone was upped again and the shots in the foot. UGH,
So back and forth then last January I had problems when getting up or out of
bed. The severe pain started in my heels and into my foot. I came home
from Fl in March and saw the doc again. MORE shots in both heels. padded
inserts more. Then by May the right foot was better, then the left got
worse, 3 more rounds of shots. I could feel the sharp pain in my ankle as
well as in the bottom of my foot. Had to wear a brace boot. Right foot was
ok but felt swollen and burning HE said it was due to using my right more to
protect the left from pain. OK!!
Well If you have read the post you know I had surgery and it is working
well. I still have the burning on and off and they say it is more neuropathy
now than anything. I was on neurotin and it did mess my mind. Tried Lyrica
and that made me goofier, if that was possible. I mean it knocked me out and
I could not concentrate or think. Even at a low dose.
So I got that PACK pharmacy cream and it is working quite well with the
pain. It is a mix of 4 different drugs in a balm and I apply it to my feet
as well as my low back and it helps. Honest. I had reservations but dang
after awhile you try anything.
So I know how you feel and I feel for you badly. when you can't walk it is
a "b" !
Want to know more about the balm let me know privately. I will give you
what the doc wrote and you can ask about it with a pharmacy where you are,
and who is a PACK pharmacist who makes up meds.
I gave it to Mair but haven't heard if she got it yet.
good luck and keep hanging in there.
sorry this is so long
