I think the heat is more of a problem to me than the sun.

I think I said something about this a while back but I'll say it again. I
have a friend with MS and we were talking one day and she's supposed to stay
out of the sun and heat too. The reason being is the heat causes the body to
lose moisture and one of the first things effected by this moisture loss is
the nerve endings because they are so tiny.  I'm not sure that is my problem
but it makes sense. Apparently this is a really big problem for those with
MS as they do not want to damage the nerves.

An hour in the heat and I'm shot for the rest of the day. Also I think
because I live where there is high humidity I tend to not sweat, then I can
get in really big trouble because my body, I guess, overheats.

I can avoid the sun pretty well most of the time but the heat is a constant
in the summer so I hide in the air conditioned house through the worst of
it.

It bothers me a great deal too.  And I believe the reason for this is
prednisone.  It just seems like my heat intolerance worsens every time
I have to take the stuff.  I have never fainted in my life, but I came
dangerously close to passing out behind the wheel of my car one summer
day (on an ozone alert day).  I've been more careful about being out in
the heat ever since.

Yep, I was wondering if it was just me.  The heat and sun really make
me sick.  They seem to be worse than the cold.  And I live in Texas,
I'm in the WRONG place aren't I?  And everybody gives me a bad time
about not going out in the daytime.  They call me Vampiria.  That's
fine with me, they don't understand even if I try to explain it to
them.  I had to go to the doctor yesterday afternoon that is 60 miles
away and my arms and face burned all night long because it was warm and
got some sun.  Stupid doctors.  I guess I need some doctors with Lupus
too, huh.  ;)

The heat and me do not go along.  I simply cannot tolerate the sun or the
heat..... it's horrible.  And to think, I live in an incredibly hot place.
Ugh.  Only 103* today.... down from 111*

Poor Nicole!
and I mean that!
I was visiting my daughter 2 years ago, and she is in northern Alberta... their temp that summer went up to 104* !
I thought i was gonna die!! the only cool spot was the 'dog house' lol!! meaning their concrete floored basement, a semi underground floor with windows head height, and the furniture is used by all 7 dogs at night,... just a bit rank and that is being 'nice'
... my daughter breeds labs and they live with them, the pups too when there are litters!... a very doggy house in every sense! me? i am a cat person through and through... hmm.. i think that says it all except that,  well, it was a miserable visit to say the least and I will never go in summer again!

Heat and I have never agreed on anything! specially how high NOT to go <g> or how much not to 'burn me' and make me rash out and then get feverish...
MY temp used to go as high as 103 and 104 when I was a kid  every summer!!... I have 6 sisters and we are all fair skinned and I was the only one in bed most of every summer  of my childhood....
Poor Nicole... you see how I can relate?!!
Stay in and stay cool and good luck to you...
down from 111*!!?? OUCH!

Yes, I experience a lot of problems with the heat.  Over exposure often
triggers a flare.  I also find that my face flushes first.  My husband
often see it coming on before I realize the changes.

Try to avoid it - the heat, although too much airconditioning can cause
other problems.  Just be cautious and try to keep cool.
