Does any one of you have experience with plantar fascitis.  I saw a foot doc
years ago and got a shot of cortisone and novacaine in my foot due to it,
And it was fine

then last fall started in again but in both feet, I wear inserts too from
doctor.

NOW it is so bad I can hardly walk, I do stretches and exercises plus water
now and tues I saw doc again. NOW he tells me he wanted to inject both feet,
which he did and I about screamed it hurt so bad :(, I mean that. It felt
like a knife was cutting my toes off.  Well the feet went numb and he
infiormed me that if this works then it is fine but IF not then he wants to
do more extensive tests.
what tests would he want??
PLus the left foot seems ok but the right is right back where it was before
the injections.

He mentioned maybe a tear in the ligament but that don't sound right, then
mentioned it came from my back but I have no pain down the leg like I did
when I did have the back surgery done.  This is opposite.  Only darn pain is
in the  inside of the heel then shoots to the outside of the foot, Ican
barely tolerate walking again.
Any info on this will be helpful believe me. I need my feet.
I do have neuropathy but well that is another story and I can't take
neurotin due to the side effects of BAD HUMOR hehe.  Personality changes I
don't need LOL

Oh and rheumy saw me and informed me she wanted to control me better cause
In the last 2 yrs I had too many flares. she mentioned cell cept but then
said "I didn't have kidney problems" so wait on that one. I can't take
naprelan, gives me kidney pain, believe that?  plus no mtx, and no imuran.
so more medrol and then what?  I give up

thanks in advance

Hi Janers,

I had plantar fascitis last year.  I already had orthodics, but the
doctor told me to wear my shoes (good running shoes) all the time...as
soon as I got out of bed.  It took a while for the imflammation to go
away, but it did.

Hope you get some relief soon.

I'm replying so Janers sees your reply, Nutty.

I had plantar fasciatis and had five injections in the heel and then when I
purchased custom made orthotics - it allowed me the freedom to walk and hike
again.

IMHO, even if one has orthotics - they must be updated, as our feet are
progressively changing with our diseases.

Love ya,

There's a number of tips and tests mentioned here -

When do you wear your splints?
Night splints that maintain the foot at an angle of 90 degrees or more to the
ankle have recently been used as adjunctive therapy for plantar fasciitis. These
orthoses prevent contraction of the plantar fascia while the patient sleeps. One
study showed relief of recalcitrant plantar fasciitis pain in 83 percent of
patients treated with such splints.

That particular night splint, for me, caused spasms in my foot.

Hi All

Just dropped in to this group again, after long break, and called in to see
who else suffers with foot pain - and found this thread.

I have the heel pain 'most' of the time but in vastly varying severity -
some days torture to walk but mostly just regular pain.

However, I also have 'lumps' that come up across the ball of my foot.  The
first lump was about 8 years ago when I went back to work as a bank teller,
which I blamed on the medium heels I wore on hard flloors after 18 months
not working (new mum).  The lump was right in between the two ball-y bits on
my foot - like I had half a marble stuck in my shoe.  It improved after I
changed jobs.

Anyway, I get them all the time now but they come up all along the ball of
my foot - as if the bones are coming through the bottom of my foot. I also
get miscellaneous bumps on the sides of my feet - like bunions I guess, but
they come and go.  I spoke with a Podiatrist yesterday who seemed to be
going along the lines of things I have read here - possible spinal problems,
plantar fasciitis etc etc. I have read some horror stories and wonder if
anyone else has the same problem as me with the bumps on the balls of their
feet.

I do find that the obvious - resting them when I can, wearing joggers
whenever possible - helps but, I suppose just WISHING for a little more. Do
orthotics help? Massage?  Feeling pretty down at the moment because other
joints have been nasty too.....

Thanks for any help
