Nicole - 20 Apr 2006 10:16 GMT I ordered the bracelet from the Lupus now magazine. I hope it's as beautiful as it looks. Nicole
Krista - 21 Apr 2006 09:18 GMT I thought about it, but I really don't wear any jewelry. So I've decided to get a lavender butterfly tattoo. I just can't decide *where* on my body to get it! :-)

janers - 21 Apr 2006 14:25 GMT Oh sounds nice but watch who does it and watch for infections..
As far as where, why not your hip? but then no one can see it UNLESS,
how about your upper back near your shoulder?
good luck and let us know
:) Krista - 21 Apr 2006 18:52 GMT He he he he... I already have one extensive one on my shoulder, and on my ankle, and on my thigh, and on my back... I got two just a couple of months ago. I was thinking neck-right under hairline and ear, or ahem, my, uh, chest... Near my heart. I don't mind people seeing my tattoos. I'm a wild crazy tattooed woman!!! My Mom just *hates* it when I come home with a new tattoo. I've never had a problem with one getting infected or anything.
Nicole - 22 Apr 2006 05:01 GMT on top of your foot? I so want a tattoo but wish it would last only a few years. LOL

Had always wanted to tattoo the bottom of my foot "made in Japan" since I was teased all my life about being made in Japan. I settled for my ankle area and it is in Japanese. I can show it when I want and when dressed up "formal" it can be covered with really dark nylons. LOL My mom didn't freak.
More and more females are getting tats...but they can be addicting! My first has lead to just one more...also in Japanese. I'll refrain from any more.
Hugs, Sherry

At times I've thought about having my forehead tattoo'ed "This End Up," with an arrow in the appropriate direction. I'll never do it, but it could come in handy at times.
Maybe a sweatband with the same message . . .

Sherry - 22 Apr 2006 18:43 GMT I like the sweatband idea better than a tat on your forehead!

Sherry - 24 Apr 2006 04:53 GMT Is that something like you finally got it all together and forgot where you put it? I truly miss my mind most of all. Really difficult for a person who was always organized and neat etc etc etc. I have difficulty staying on task because I can't remember what I was doing or going to do. Makes checkbook and bills a real pain in the butt! I put things away where they should be easy to find and it is like hide and seek most of the time. <g>
Hugs, Sherry

Yeah, they are addicting. But I really do like the way they look in certain outfits, etc. Mine usually don't show but one or two might show if I let them. I'm still liking the foot idea for the lupus butterfly tattoo.
Krista - 22 Apr 2006 21:08 GMT On top of my foot is a good idea Nicole! I have nice feet and like to show them off (one of my few body parts I like to be seen), so that may be a viable option! Thanks!
Nicole - 23 Apr 2006 02:05 GMT N/P I have barney rubble feet. Take pics when you do it so I can be jealous. I don't like the permemenant aspect of tattoes so I'll stick to henna.
Was the other tattoo pre or post lupus? How did you heal? Nicole

I'll sure take pics and put them up for everybody to see so you can be jealous. ;-)
Uh, I have er, 5 tattoos, 3 post lupus, never had any problems with them. The dragon, it was reallly big, and hurt for quite a while, also itched and stuff, it took longer to heal but it was fine. It's gonna be sore, it's like taking a mini-meat tenderizer to your skin. But it was probably since I move my arms so much it pulled on the skin. No infection or anything. It really doesn't make sense because I scar so easily and take forever to heal but the tattoos are no problem, you just have to keep them moisturized with lotion. The one on my thigh looks so fresh it looks like I took a paint pen and drew on my leg, everybody asks me about it.

Andy - 23 Apr 2006 09:03 GMT >Nicole, > >I'll sure take pics and put them up for everybody to see so you can be >jealous. ;-) Minor technicality: don't put them up *here*, as some ISPs will then block your posting because it contains an attachment: strictly this is a text-only group although html posts don't get blocked.

Krista - 23 Apr 2006 20:24 GMT Oh my! Well, I wouldn't want that to happen! I have a homepage I was going to post the pics on and then send the link, that's what I meant when I said "put them up". I did not even think it was possible to post a picture here on this group page. Or I can also send them directly to whoever is interested. Either one is quite simple. Is that okay?

Best is the homepage way - then people can peek without asking first :) It may also be better for those on webtv - can one of them say?

Krista - 24 Apr 2006 10:45 GMT He he he, true, true. Thanks Andy.
Where it says northeastlupus uk on your signature, does that mean you're in the UK?
Just wondering I have a friend in Devon.

Krista - 25 Apr 2006 09:31 GMT Andy- Yeah, that's what I thought. Devon is in the southern part right? Even southwest? I'm such a bad friend I need to look it up. She lives in Tiverton.
Jenn - the butterfly tattoo may not cost as much as the jewelry, depending what you want. That's why I prefer tattoos. If I were you I'd hint around to family and friends about the bracelet around birthday or Christmas time.

Krista - 26 Apr 2006 04:02 GMT Andy -
Talked to my friend Christiana last night, er, 3 am - 6 am here, person on my lupus support group from UK. I told her you were from the Northeast and she was curious what town you were from. She's in Tiverton. She's dying for me to come for a visit. She's even trying to look for a job for me there. I think she misses a little bit of Texas! Course, I guess I could follow your link you have there and find out too. Duh. ~ Krista
Nicole - 27 Apr 2006 00:40 GMT The bracelet is only 50$ bux. Here in CA, tattoos costs *alot* more than that.

Krista - 27 Apr 2006 18:29 GMT he he he, well, I'm not planning on getting a very large tattoo. They're pretty reasonable around here. I got my entire dragon tattoo, which is at least 6" by 4", for $90. But I think the guy liked me, because it was at least a $200 tattoo. So I gave him a $10 tip. It'll probably be around $50 here depending on where I go. I should probably go back to the same guy huh? ;-)
