What kind of pain do you have in shoulders? That is reason for one of
my MRI's this week. I have been getting knife sharp pain then is like
the whole shoulder is dislocated for a while have to wait for it to come
back and it's on both sides.
Just started suddendly.

Well yours sounds like the lady who was waiting for the doctor at the
clinic.
she couldn't move her arm or shoulder and it happened "overnight"
Mine had gradual onset, started with bursitis and pain down the upper arm,
then inflammation around (in) one of the joints .
Both sides? or both shoulders?
My right's worse than my left. I expect that because i'm right-handed, so
the right gets the worst wear and abuse.
The injections really helped my left but not my right.
The whole shoulder and blade get involved in a flare and I can feel my
ribs (or back) crack when I try taise or extend my arm, but it's never
felt dislocated. He said maybe a muscle tear, but it's more than that,
well, I don't know what a muscle tear feels like. I just know that the
cortisone helps some, and they see inflammation when they look on
ultrasound.
Let us know their findings. I'm always interested.
Hope they find a solution, Cindy.
Hugs

Any verdict yet Cindy?
I just got my appointment date - it's in August, unless they have to delay
(due to other emergencies).
Guess they're looking for anything but the requisition is asking about
rotator cuff tear.
Urgent and semi-urgent get in faster; they checked off "elective". Nobody
cares in Canada if I've been in pain for 8 years.
Aw..well, they may just end up saying it is osteoarthritis and I'm stuck
with it until the joint gets worse (ie something fixable).

That is what they had guessed a tear but on both sides?? I will know
next week when I do follow up with neurologist. Then we scedule the
infusions I hope I am keeping up with all this. Tomorrow is my last free
day So I will sit and get my thoughts or whats left of them together.
Whole new scedule for me.
My Hubby was offered a job with Shell and it had great ins so we are
putting the infusions off till May first so they will be covered with
them. We are covered first day all our co pays go way down and Benefits
are great. same money and he can work 10 more years so is a great step
he is so excited. And a nice added touch is 4 / 10's so he has a nice 3
day weekend to keep up with all this. We had that before and it is
wonderful.
Anyway sorry got off on a babble here
I am thinking that my shoulders are inflammation like BJ was saying as
it is both and just came on fast. I had to go real high on pred for this
flare and it has already seem to help a bit. So will see. I wish you
could get in faster it is so hard to wait. I know I put some of this off
just cause I did not want to spend the money n me and my legs got bad,
so I hate when someone has to wait.

It's so good to read that your insurance needs will be taken care of. I
just wish it would happen sooner.
Like you and BJ say it sounds like a flareup.
and it's great to read about the 4 / 10s and 3 day weekend.
It's still cool here and I can't work outside when it's like that. The
snowplow dug up my lawn and dumped turf in wrong places, which I'll to
move back where they belong. That'll flare up my shoulders, but I have
pain meds i've been squirrelling (since I lost my family doctor 3 years
ago). He prescribed me 30 for one year ! heehee...geez and I've only been
using them when I absolutely have to and cut them in halves or quarters.
So I'll follow along and see what they come up with from your MRI report
and how things go for you, Cindy.
J - the squirrel :)
Hi J,
I thought it was about time I caught up on things around here. Gosh, you are
having an awful time with that cold. Don't try OTC meds for too long.
Perhaps taking the new anti-biotic would knock that darn bug right out of
you.
I had very bad shoulder problems about six years ago. The MRI showed chronic
inflammation. I was on a lot of pred at the time, so maybe that is why it
eventually got better. It is never quite right, but not so painful anymore.
Hope you don't have to wait too long for the MRI. Your shoulder problem is
something else that has been ongoing. Take care and feel better.

Thanks BJ.
Well, I don't know if you'll be reading or gone back into the winter cave.
I was about to post that I'm taking Tylenol X-tra strength for congestion and it
has acetaminaphen in it.
I was about to tell ya'll that a) it's helping much more than Sinutab b) the
acetaminophen was helping my pain and I was finally getting some good sleeps but
whack ! in a arm/hand pain flare tonight
Some days I feel like a pharmeucetical - dig around for one medication, put the
others away, pull another one out, put the other away, goodness me. It's
usually so much simpler in summer.
So I just took an antiinflammatory...
Anyway, I wanted to look up the antibiotic and gad, he gave my a *thromycin and
400 mg at that. (ketek)
2 tablets/once a day = 800 mg !
The ones that gave me rolling on the couch stomach pains were 333 mg or and 250
mg.
I don't know what I'm going to do.
Even the Tylonel w/acetaminaphen caused some mild stomach pain, same location -
yet I can't believe they've done 3 tests and can see nothing there.
Oh well..
That's the story.
I'm glad your shoulder's better, BJ
Can you lift or extend your shoulder without pain? If I do, it flares and I can
only let it dangle or take stronger pain meds for a few days.

That's what the doc gave me in January, Ketek. I don't want to take that
again NEVER EVER! I felt like I was poisoning myself with each dose - I just
kept telling myself that I was killing the bacteria not the entire body.

I took one (was supposed to take two) and started getting thrush right away, so
I quit.
It kills off the good bacteria as well.
I'm okay now. I think all I needed was time and tylenol congestion
Aw well, if I ever need it, I'll to remember to buy natural yogurt.
Thanks for the heads up, Bev.
