J - 13 Nov 2005 11:55 GMT Hello All, I've been reading your posts and caring. How are y'all doing? I know some of you are busy with education (Bev?), wedding (Sharon?), house-cleaning (BJ?), moving (KC?) and where's the rest of you ?
Before things get very busy with your Thanksgiving and loading up on gifts for Christmas, how about a roll call. Please come check in and let us know how you're doing. Hugs to all, J

Bi's probably tired - her hubby retired. Maybe when she comes here she'll tell a very funny story about a cake. Hugs J

aishae - 28 Nov 2005 11:37 GMT Hello Everyone,
Just thought I would pop in and say hello, as I see "J", would like to know who is around. . . so "Hello" J. . .I am sorry I haven't checked in in so long but I have been so very ill for the past year or so, I have barely taken time to look @ my email on a daily basis. AND For awhile I couldn't get my News, through Outlook, but did receive a daily update through the web in my other email. I see allot of familiar names but also many NEW ones. So most of those people won't remember my name. . .But I would like to say "Hello" to them as well. . . I have been feeling much more like myself, after so many med changes and quite a rocky road since last Dec.I will try to "Catch Up" to see what you have all been up to, but WOW I have almost a year of POSTS here. . . lol. . .The only thing I can tell you about me is that My "Blood" is about the only thing that has behaved itself since last Dec. My prayers are with all of you who are going through such a bad stretch right now. . .and continued prayers for everyone (Knock wood) who are doing alright right now with there diesease. . . Hugs to all ~Aimee~ (aishae)
Sherry - 28 Nov 2005 16:28 GMT Aimee, Welcome back! So sorry that you have been so ill! Catching up with a years worth of posts would be impossible for me <g> I have trouble catching up if I haven't read the group for more than a week.
Glad that you are feeling much more like yourself and I hope the improvement in your health continues.
Welcome back!
Hugs, Sherry
aishae - 29 Nov 2005 11:48 GMT Thanks Sherry,
I think U R right. . . (about the Posts. . .lol) seems like a mighty task. . .I have just been browsing them and I will probably skip around, just to get a general idea of what has been going on with everyone. . .then I will have to delete most of them , just so it doesn't take 5 min to scroll to the current days. . .lol. . .I will just have to do the best i can I guess. . . Thanks for "Welcoming me back". . .I have missed feeling up to sitting @ the 'puter. . .it feels good to "be up to it" again, and to be back here. . .and actually might even feel like I can contribute to the group again. . .
Great to see evryone still here along with soooo many new posters as well. . .~Hugs & Prayers to All~Aimee

I was switched from Topomax to Nortryptiline when I couldn't tolerate the Topomax (the meds were for headaches - same as you). The Nortryptiline worked great and was much cheaper. Maybe something to look into...
Hope you are able to get relief!
I am still around... lurking myself. Everything status quo. I'll contribute when I think I can be of help!

BJ - 16 Nov 2005 14:10 GMT Hi J, I am here, but have been very ill. This is the first time in a while that I have even read anything on the ng. Unfortunately, there were a number of events that had to be attended. It was hard under the circumstances. I see you brought a number of people out of hiding with your roll call request. Good for you for getting us all talking again.

candi bowen - 16 Nov 2005 22:01 GMT Hi everyone, I'm still lurking but not posting much. Still taking care of the horses, cats, dogs, chicken, etc. & the wildlife (this is including the grandkids - they're pretty wild). Doc says they're all keeping me alive. I can't die! Who would take care of them?! We got a big 3 room temt last summer & me & the girls spent a lot of time out there when it was hot. It was way cool. Seriously, no big problems lately other than joint pain & fevers & I heard when menopause starts, sometimes lupus goes into remission. I'm 49 so maybe it's true. Time will tell.
Anyone heard from Grace?
Candi
Sherry - 17 Nov 2005 00:20 GMT Candi, Good to see you post. Your summer sounded like fun. I also hope that menapause helps and you are one of the sometimes!
I think J or someone else posted the other day that they hadn't heard from Grace in a while and last they heard it looked like lung transplant time.
Sherry

It seems like a long time since you last posted. No wonder with that menagerie. I would have pitched a tent too this summer, it;s such a good idea.
Oh, it was Pell who updated us about Grace in September. copied from the archives "I've corresponded with Grace in the last month. She had a week of tests to see if she can get on the list for a lung transplant. Last I heard, she didn't know if she'd be added to the list and was not wanting to think about the issue for a while. She was happy with a review her newly published book got this summer and wanted to focus more on that than health issues. "
So we don't know what's currently happening with Grace. Hugs Candi, J

I didn't make it out of my school district last year, so I'm back with little germ machines again. I'm going to look into educational publishers over Christmas break. There are a fair number in my area. Now that I have about 10 years of teaching under my belt, I might be useful to them as something besides a proofreader.

llamamama - 21 Nov 2005 06:56 GMT Gretchen checking in after a long absence. I lost all my bookmarks, and just found this group again tonight! It's good to still see some familiar names, although I doubt anyone recognizes mine. So sorry to hear that BJ and Grace are so sick.

Hello Gretchen, When we say "don't be a stranger" that sure applies to you. You've been MIA for over a year. Gosh, you've been missed. I hope we hear from you more often now that you've found us again.
How come you're using Google to post? I see earthlink info here http://news.earthlink.net/ on how to access newsgroups . Hugs J
Mermaid - 21 Nov 2005 13:26 GMT J, I am still here. Hard at work on a catalog at work and working on a guitar solo for church and it has me freaked. I am taking Mobic and found out it was making my ears ring. Considering that I am deaf in one ear, I have to make a choice of whether to be in pain or save my ear. Guess I will be in pain. The pain in my side is still bothering me and recently I have had twinges in my back. Seems like the only thing that helps me be comfortable so I can sleep at night is taking a half pill of Loritab. Since the doctor reduced my thyroid med, my heart has calmed down. I have found a new diet to go along with me taking thyroid meds. Have lost 7 lbs so far. My clothes at least don't feel as tight. And I found an exercise DVD that is for people that have back trouble. My daughter and her husband are doing well. Will not get to see them this Thanksgiving :(
Have talked to Mair. She is having computer problems. Hopefully she will be back soon. Miss Pigmet.
Sorry to be so late in responding.
Paulette Ethyl Mermaid
Sherry - 21 Nov 2005 16:36 GMT I think I would save my hearing also! There are plenty of other pain meds out there so get your Doc to RX something else.
Relax, your guitar solo will come together!
Hugs, sherry

I'm so excited but this will also be the first > Christmas away from hubby and son. Gee, christmas away from hubby and son. That'll be different for sure. Hope you have a good one Sher, You can call them and swap Christmas greetings and events. Don't worry about the lady about Sacramento, We'll get her the info, if we get it from Mair. I just posted a list of local support groups to her, as well. We'll miss you Sherry, Have a good Christmas and a Happy New year's celeb.. Hugs J
Sherry - 02 Dec 2005 04:00 GMT I just have this need to be home with my mom. Each year as I get older so does she and I don't want to be sooooo long between our visits.
Hubby and son will do just fine by themselves and we have our phones. Will just seem strange not being withthem for the holidays but it will be wonderful to be "home". Texas will always be my home even tho I have been in CA for 35 yrs.
Hope you have a good Christmas.
I'll check in from my mom's computer if the group is still on it. So if you see posts from Eleanor you'll know I'm still in touch.
Hugs, sher
