Hi all, please think of me on Wednesday morning, I am having my laser eye
surgery at 9.50 am BST, I am absolutely terrified, and I know there is
nothing much to worry about, but hey thats the way I am.  I will let
everyone know how I get on, via my beloved Sam after the event. I don't
think I will be up to the comp for a few days.

Hi Janet,
I will think about you. All will be well, I am sure. It will be great if Sam
can let us know how it goes. Take care.

Just curious....are you on steroid medication?  I have often thought about
having the  surgery but wondered if the medication would be an issue. I know
that I tried to have plastic surgery and was turned down because of my
steroids.

NO steroids, the sugery is to correct bleeding blood vessels behind the eye,
not to correct defective vision, maybe they will do that while they are at
it, might just make me happier having it done, lol :>)

I had plastic surgery while on 20 mg of prednisone and a bunch of
imuran. I healed very quickly, but i guess it depends on the procedure.

I wanted to have an elective tummy tuck..... no luck with that......was your
plastic surgery that evasive? or medically necessary?????

Not evasive or "medically" necessary, and i was awake the whole time,
but i have a high threshhold for medical procedures after spending so
much time in the hospital and doctors office. A tummy tuck, from what
i've seen on TV, is quite involved, and there's a big incision (is that
the correct spelling?). I wonder why your doctor turned you down since
they will prescribe steroids anyways to help you heal. When my mom had
liposuction and a forehead lift, they gave her steroids. Maybe you
should find another surgeon.

They turned me downed because it is "elective" surgery...and I am considered
"high" risk....etc.

go figure....

You could always go to Thailand. They have western-trained physicians,
special hospitals that take good care of patients, and when you're
done, you can stay for a few extra weeks and hang-out on the beach.
hmmmm....maybe I need some more surgery.

Hi  all, I had my eye done, it was very painful, they could only do half the
first time, I have to go back on 10 November for another session.  Sorry for
the lateness of this report we have been very busy.  I think Lehill has got
the wrong idea about this surgery, it was not a cosmetic thing it was to
stop me losing my sight due to new blood vessell growth behind my eye.

Hi Janet,
Sorry to hear it was so painful and that you have to go another time too. I
do hope you will have good results. Thanks for the update.
