For whatever reason I can't seem to download new posts this weekend.
Just wanted to let you guys know that I called Cindy's house late in the
afternoon on Friday and no one answered. I'm sure she evacuated. She's also
probably one of those to return quickly because I think her husband would be
essential personnel. Although I think she'd consider him to be essential
personnel no matter what his job. I'm going to try calling her house again
later today.
So glad that most of my friends have probably managed to avoid major damage,
especially one friend who lives in Galveston Beach area. But another might
have found themselves in Rita's path. They left Houston and headed for the
Lumberton area where their daughter's family lives.
I guess it will be another couple of days before we all know how much damage
has occurred. Port Charles looked as bad as New Orleans. I've watched the
live feed from KHOU all day yesterday.
At least we can evacuate when we know there is a hurricane coming - can't do
that with a tornado or earthquake.
Still crossing my fingers for friends who were in Rita's path.
Bev
Hi, Everyone been a tough week. Bev was right we did get out late
thursday night no problem with traffic we were very lucky. We had more
damage up in the area of my brother in law's house on Lake Livingston
then we did here, we lost power and they were still out last night very
high winds trees and poles down everywhere. We came in last night, again
no problem, we had not even lost power at our house, part of the fence
blown over, that's all.
Thanks for calling Bev, John is essential personal at work and here (0:
we are keeping the phone clear so I haven't made any calls yet he has
been answering calls from work and will be going in starting 4 am shift
tomorrow.
I am ok just exhausted RSD thing hurting and a sore throat but good
considering. I am not even going to worry about unpacking till I rest
some.
Going to try and get Ellyn's ultrasound asap calling tomorrow
Thanks again everyone I hope all others in Rita's path are ok it was one
windy storm.

Thank goodness!!!! I just couldn't see you having to deal with a flooded or
damaged home (again) on top of everything else. I am so glad that you are
safely home!!!
Hugs,
Sherry
