Hi  Everyone. I finally have new computer and we figured out how to do
the newsgroup again. I have missed you all so much, I get Janers jokes
and appreciate that so much.
Janers I am so sorry for what you have been going through. As you know
steroids are pretty much all I have left to battle this too.  I just
finished my every 4 months visits and there "ok your legs look awful
(bruises) but not much we can do about it bah bah bah. I am also on
Depakote to fight the headaches and now little seizures. It really does
help the headaches. Has anyone mentioned that to you before? I know how
bad they can get. This has been a tough year here too pneumonia in May
right on my daughters birthday I am at the hospital getting chest xray
the late afternoon of the day we are going to meet at a restaurant for
her sweet 16 birthday, the whole family, I am suppose to be bringing
cake and presents and I am  hoping I am not going to end up in hospital
as my family Dr. is threatening. So turns out some fluid but I can stay
home  safer at home but fever spikes go first call on way. I ignored the
part about go home and rest and got on with my daughters birthday.
Which was very nice. didn't matter that I had no voice I just sat back
and took pictures and was so happy to be there and not in the hospital.
Then in June caught the top of my index finger in door and broke top
two knuckles. called crush fracture. be careful folks this is a bad one
as I pinched a nerve when I did it and it has been awful. The finger is
ok now but the arm up to elbow and then  thumb are all messed up they
swell turn red hurt unbelievably. Weirdest thing , rheumy and
neurologist say can take 6 months to 5 years  They both say Neurotin may
help. Not sure I want to take it.
One of the other things this year was small seizures but they are
much better thanks to the Depakote we raised dose to 2000 mgs.
I also was having bad time with sugar numbers, went to new
endocrinologist. He put me on a stronger glucophage and glipizide and
changed my insulin. I have lost 12 pounds on this in 3 months it is a
great program.
I wanted to mention it if someone is having trouble there.
I just want to tell BJ a special hello and I am so sorry to hear
about your loss I do understand as you know. I miss you and I am here if
you want to email me.
And to all the others I was so happy to see Beverley and  I remember
Paulette I hope all goes well I have not had a chance to read all the
post as I just got on and wanted to send a post quickly sorry so long.
Anyway it is so nice to see familiar names I hope this keeps
working. I have missed this and all of you so much.We also sold our old
place and we are leasing a regular house that doesn't leak LOL the ones
that remember me may remember about my old house.  We are looking at
homes a little south of here near the water more in the country where
they are not developing do much .  That a story all in it's own won't
get into it but still a little sad to leave the old Bat Cave behind. A
classic case of Be Careful What you Wish For..

I can't believe you are back here.  "Great balls of fire"" LOL.  I have
missed you and wonder a lot how you are. I keep sending you jokes "hoping"
that you might feel well enough to write me back.
I am sorry Cindy about your seizure and lung problems.  I tell you woman
"enough" is enough already....I feel for you, you have had your full of too
too many things, tis time to NOT do that ok??
But, (Sigh) how well I know and wish we could set our course for wellness
better.   Since we can't, we have to do what we can.
As far as my headaches, it is related the the neck. I had a neck fusion
done in 99 and now spondylosis of the spine (ART) he has decided to set in.
So the bones are hitting bones, inflammation and then pinching nerves.
These little buggers go up into the back of the head and KNOCK me around.
Hence headaches.  SO I will see what can be done for that.
Rheumy did mention that she wanted an MRI if the blocks did not work.  I
think tis a good idea, go any xanax?  I hate to have my head held down LOL.
Even in an open MRI....

I know of lots of people who have taken Neurontin and it has worked.  For
me NOPE.  In fact I became a person I didn't know was in me.  I was a Royal
Bi..., and I can be sometimes but this time on that drug, even I wanted to
slap myself silly.  MY mouth over ran my mind LOL.  never again....
But if you are reluctant to use neurontin then why not ask your doc about a
block.  I mean into the arm and numb that pain out?  how about a Tens unit
to that arm and try that?  I would try anything and it can't hurt to ask
about that.  they do blocks on arms all the time for pain in extremeties.
With better insulin and a new doc, you gonna lick that part woman.
Now where are you located?
We need to write more often...sorry this was so long
missed you
glad you are back
love
janers

Wow that was fast (0:  I was on nurotin a couple years ago too and that
was how I reacted too maybe it's the red hair  lol  I do have some
headaches from pinched nerve at neck and those do hurt no surgeries
though. But most of my headaces are from the central nervous system
stuff I will ask about a block I saw that on line. It is unreal how much
this hurts I ice it and elevate all the time each spot as it moves
around. Anyway I am so happy to ba back I thank you for your jokes I was
doing my replies wrong and I was sick and didn't want to even mess with
it John would say good jokes and he sends to his brother and friends so
thank you as you brighten alot of days Down here in Hot ole Texas.
This is so nice I have a lot of catching up to do I just read about BJ's
mom  I am so sorry to hear all that.
I am so glad you were on Janers good to see you You are right we do what
we have to do and we fight the battles as they come.

Yo Cindy!
So glad to hear from you. Sorry you are having a tough time. Hang in there,
you'll get through it.
I took Neurontin also for my sciatic nerve problem. No results either.
Wonder if it is the Lupus factor.
Ok now, you have a new computer, you have no excuse to join in.

So happy to see your posts,
Paulette Ethyl Mermaid

Cindy,
I'm so glad to see you back!!!!  I think of you often.  I e-mailed but they bounced a few times so just kept wondering how you were doing.  I remember the old house and thought of you everytime the rain and storms were in your area hoping you didn't flood again!  Welcome back and I hope that you feel well enough to check in frequently.

Love & hugs,
Sherry

Hi Cindy,
I heard the good news of your return. It is so great to see you back. We have some wonderful new people here, but I have missed so many of the "old" ones who no longer post. You brought me out of hiding. <g> I have been down in the dumps and have not been active around here lately. J wanted me to tell you how pleased she was to see you too. She would have told you that herself, but she has been suffering with her elbow and shoulder. Add to that her computer problems and you will know why she has not been posting. I see that you are still fighting to do as much as you can. Sorry that you are having such a bad time. I am on Neurontin and I don't have any side effects from it. It does seem to help with the constant nerve pain. It takes the edge off it anyway. It doesn't seem to make me crabby, but maybe I am so crabby by nature that it is difficult to tell. <g> Hope to see you here as a regular again.
Hugs and a big welcome back,
BJ
