Hello.
I'm a newbie to your group tho have FMS/MPS/etc. & posted for many yrs
on amf. Recently I've had such an increase in symptoms that my stepsis
talked me into checking out Lupus info. Whoa! Couldn't believe my
eyes!! Answers sooo many things unexplained for Yrs.!!!
Tomorrow I go see my Pain doc w/my list of 15 matching symptoms &
research on meds & my cry to get me out of pain! I was doin' ok on
40mg methadone (for pain only) but not now. I've been waking up in
screaming pain & tears...I'm a musician & my hands especially are
screaming. So 4a.m. I got up 4x this week to take ibuprofen w/my pain
meds.
I had planned on trying Cymbalta but now I just want to find out if
this is Lupus. I was in hospital for a month w/pnuemonia in Feb./March
& then a month later have pleurisy & now my lung just swelled up for
the heckofit!!
Ok, sorry my first post is whiny...hmmm...maybe I'll wait to post this
...well?! maybe not cuz I need your input & experience.
Anyway, I'm just lettin' ya know I've been reading your ng for a couple
of weeks & thought I'd delurk due to many ??s cuz I think I know a
couple of you from fibro. groups.
Healin' hugz to all,
Kindly,
LoriB.o.B.

Hi Lori.
ask away. Does sound pretty suspicious to me. Sometimes if they can't pin
down the diagnosis, then a trial run with a steroid or other
disease-modifying drug can help them determine if there really is an
autoimmune condition at work vs. a "pain syndrome". IMO, FMS is often
diagnosed because lupus or other AI disease symptoms have not fully
manifested. There is a strong correlation between the two.
Good luck and let us know how the dog (uh doc) appt. goes. typo must mean I
need to go check on the dog. or perhaps eat lunch since it's almost 1:40.
