Thought I'd better check in with everybody before I find myself in the dog
house with all my friends.
FIL is doing well for what he has been through. I still think his heart just
might take him sooner than anyone expects. He looks so old and frail. But
the hardest part is watching my MIL cope. She's doing better now that her
husband is home with her but.....
We keep running back and forth. That is hard on us with the price of
gasoline. With each trip we cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel system
each way and that is expensive! Physically, it is long hours in the car and
we all know about sitting in a car too long. UGH!
So for now I'm home and we are planning not to go up this weekend unless
something happens between now and then.
I'd previously committed myself to a project at my granddaughter's school
this week and next. So I'm coming home tired each afternoon. It's not as bad
as when I was working but still it is not easy.
My BP has come down. I did call the doctor's office and his nurse was so
sweet to me. She said that the BP spiking as quite normal under the
circumstances and just to continue with my med and watching my diet as much
as possible. It's running about 118-124 over 72-81 which isn't as low as
they would like it but it sure beats the 154 over 110 that I experienced
when we first made the emergency trip to the in-laws. The hardest thing is
my MIL salts everything and if she isn't making it we are eating out and the
restaurants salt everything.
Now the house renovations are on hold because we've taken the money to make
the trips to the in-laws. I hate not being able to do some thing now since
the weather is nice. It's not too cold or too hot to work.
I did get a new hard disk, 120 gigs which has been piggybacked so I now have
140 gigs. RAM will be increased soon too. My new camera is taking much
larger pictures so I need the room.
I hate the new software for my camera - what a pain in the butt!! If any of
you want to see some flower photos let me know. Also my DH recently gave me
new email software so nothing is going out the way it should. I finally
figured out what I have to do to send photos. LOL
That's my news. I'm very tired but overall not in bad shape. Now, if I could
just lose another 20 pounds. Wish I could jog around the block six times
each day. Wouldn't it be nice to be normal?

Your bp sounds better than mine! What do they want it to be, how low?
My norm is 130/90 approx. and they are happy if it is that lol! My lupus has
affected both renal and cardiac function so I am lucky to have the readings
I do.
Yours sounds like what mine should be according to the docs so go figure....
some of these things just don't make a lot of sense to me.

You took the words right out of my mouth there Bev!
My weight isn't bad, well maybe 10 pounds could come off <g> but it isn't my
priority,
but I was just thinking that normal looks mighty nice; we just got home
from a week long visit to my daughters and I was sick during the visit
(travelling always does that!) and of course once home so much to do post
holiday and trying to get healthy and back on top of things from laundry to
menail chores;
just to be able to go away and arrive healthy and come back home healthy
would be a real treat!!
Normal looks soooo good to me right now!
I watch my husband out in the yard doing all the normal things he always
does and it makes me itch!
I so would like to be able to jump out of bed in the morning and say "let's
go for a long walk or short run!" or "how bout a morning at the
gym/pool/tennis court.... etc... well you get my drift I am sure... so
enough moaning and I will get myself through these days of recuperation and
then we will go for a nice walk on our beach!
Meanwhile I am going through the memories of my holiday with the pictures I
have developed and spending time just looking through my albums chock full
of my 33 years of 'history';
Thank goodness for 'virtual reality' but some days taking good old fashioned
photoalbums and lying down with them is pretty nice and my love of reading
as well as watching some good movies is very relaxing and restful too.
I also find it so healing to just sit out on the benchswing with my kitties
while watching the sailboats go by; Also seeing new birds arrive this year
like the piliated (sp) woodpecker and the redwinged blackbird! pretty and
different from our downy and flicker peckers and all the finch, siskins,
towhees, juncos and all the rest of the regular robins, chickadees and
nuthatches; we also have 2 families of rufus hummingbirds this year and it
is fun to watch them feed and fight for territory.
One thing for sure this year is that we are going to get out in a kayak down
at our marina rentals! We watch them going by on nice days just paddling
lazily and I know that I can do that! I'll let you know when I do under a
CGT lol!
Hugs to you, and hope you feel better ASAP!!

Around here the docs want the BP under 120/80 that is now considered max!!!
Let's not talk about itching. When I was working on the in-laws yard I got
into poison ivy. I know that vine even without the leaves. I washed my hands
immediately but still..... It can take as much as 7-10 days for me to break
out. Tomorrow will be day 7 so maybe this time I managed to dodge the
bullet.
George and I love to go canoeing. It's so much fun and so relaxing. Maybe I
can con him into doing that this weekend. That would be fun. I think we
could use a little fun in our life. You have made me think about taking the
camera and going to our favorite canoeing spot - a quiet lake not far from
here. I know it is supposed to be windy tomorrow but it might just be a nice
day to be out on the little lake, which is more like a big pond. LOL

Hi Bev,
Glad you will be home for a while now. There is nothing like your own bed.
Good to see that your blood pressure is normal now. That is great news.
Sounds like things are going to be hectic for a while yet. Check in again
when you have time. Take it as easy as possible.

We're going to be home this weekend. It already feels so good!! I'm not sure
we will accomplish much of anything - maybe I'll just try to clean the house
a wee bit. I just want to relax!!! I NEED to relax.
