Hi all Nic or Nicole C here in Austin
Some of you may have heard that I was focusing all my energy on my
cutie pie's class party yesterday as I am the room mom. Well we had a
record turn out of parents 14 I think and lots of help, bless them all.
I made it through, the children's play was adorable, the parents and
kids really seemed to enjoy themselves. All that exhuastion and pain
was worth it:-)
I came home and collapsed for hours afterwards. Much needed rest.
Started taking potassium and my mind feels somewhat clearer if not my
body. I have decided to get the last blood test we missed done today if
possible. Rhumey says we could wait till the 22nd to get anti-cpk
(anyone know abou this one? did some research but wondering sle, uctd,
fibro, ai implications) If I get the test done today I will not be
stuck waiting forever to hear results and I can focus on Nephrologist
the 22nd. First visit with these folks too.
Today I am taking (acutally riding) my daughter and best friends (with
one of my one best friends) to see Lemony Snickets movie. Last time we
went to a movie I had to go and sit down while my deat friend did all
the work of getting drinks and lines, thank God she understands (mom
has lupus and ra).
I have not gotten any cleaning done around here nor any shopping done
but I am about to call in the troops. Last year my mom and sister
surprised me with help around the house (themselves) this year I am not
to proud to ask for it- I think;-) I informed Hubby he is going to have
to help this year with gift shopping and he is Ok with that- whew. But
of course what is most important is being with our families and we have
to split our time between our parents houses. One lives 45 minutes away
and the other 3 hours. I told family that I did not want to stress or
push myself so hard this year that I do not get to enjoy holidays.
Driving 3 hours really puts the hurt on my body as it does all of ours
I imagine. The good news is all have relented that we will not travel
like mad people to please everyone else but still get to see them all.
What is extra special is that we will get Christmas morning in our home
for the second time in 8 years:) YEAH!
Wishing you all a pleasant and comfortable day.
Nic

Hey Nic,
Aren't kids a great therapy. Good food for heart and soul.
My kids are all grown now and busy having my grandchildren. Looks like I am
having all granddaughters too. Not one grandson yet!
I get tired as you mentioned also but found out recently that I also have a
hypothyroid and now have to take synthroid forever. Someone told me about
unithroid and is suppose to be better but have not checked it out. As
fatigue is one of the main challanges of all autoimmune diseases, having a
hypothyroid can often go unchecked with the exception of having tsh blood
tests and checking the t3 and t4 levels. Often thyroid problems fit right
alongside of the other autoimmune stuff.
I never heard of an "anti"cpk test. Have of course heard of the cpk and
all. Wonder what an anti is.--
Always,

I can relate very well. Last weekend was my run run run weekend. I have
two daughters in church and girl scouts. I had a funeral on fri sat am we
had a tea at
church and the kids had singing practice. Saturday afternoon the girls had
to go to a play with the girl scouts (I am the co leader but managed to back
out of this one ) and that evening they had to go and sing at a local
comunity center. Then on Sunday they had their program at chruch and then
they were off to Knotts with the Girl Scouts again.
If it were not for one of the mom's taking up as activities coodrnater the
kids would not get to do as much. I just cant run around that much.
Especialy becasue I have a 3 year old boy at home on top of the rest of it.
Most of the time I would rather stay home but try and push a little for the
kids. I dont want them to miss out on anything - so today it is off to the
Nutcracker and then taking them with hubby tonight to look at the festive
lights. So goes the world.
