I suggest you contact that chapter that had the dinner.  I think they might
just consider helping those who would like to come to it.  At a fair price
for sure.

Our chapter has fund raising events and this year they will have their
first dinner.  I have no clue what that price will be but you can be SURE
that I will mention just what you said about those who suffer from this
disease.
Our walk a thons here are free, just sign in and if you bring money for the
cause, 50.00 or more from some friends or groups, then you get a shirt and
a lunch from the out back steak house.  YES no charge for this.  I feel
this is good, so that is nice.
I am not familiar with other chapters but Cleveland area is really big and
have lots of fund raisers.

Maybe the big dinners you are talking about is set up to get the MONEY
makers to help back our cause.  You know how "those" big wigs are <BG>
Give them a meal and they give us a check. hehehe  Well some do at least.
And I believe the one we are having is doing just that.  Seeing if they can
get bigger sponsors to empty their wallets. But Lupies should be able to
come as well and speak on behalf of the foundation and our illness.  Maybe
then more sponsors will fork over some money for us.
I say again, call that chapter in Orlando, or write them and give them a
"piece" of your mind Cloud.  I have done it before and believe me it
sometimes works hehehe
