Everybody was invited to my nephew's best friend's "engagement" party. They
told everyone they were doing this as they planned to quietly get married at
some point (second marriage for both) so in lieu of a big wedding they just
wanted to have a fun gathering of friends and family now. (Keep in mind my
nephew and his friend are business partners and own a restaurant together.)
So here's this great casual party at the local community building -
everybody is in jeans, shorts, flip-flops, tee shirts, etc. with lots of
wonderful food. The party theme is beach with neat things like beta fish in
the bowls with tropical plants on top, sea shells, pebbles, and silly kid
games on the tables with the cutest sandcastle cake. Well, at one point they
got everyone's attention and with that the friend and his betrothed whipped
off their shirts and underneath they both had on tee shirts. His said GROOM
and hers said BRIDE. They then announced they had a few things to say to
each other and were married!!!! It was kicked back and loads of fun. No one
knew what was to transpire other than the bride, groom, best man (my nephew)
and her best friend - it was a total secret even from both sets of parents!
What a wonderful fun wedding.

NOW that's a wedding.  NO fuss no worry, just do it with all your friends
and family for a party.
