Further on the topic of blood -- the Canadian blood services has a good
site -- http://www.bloodservices.ca/.

Aside from donating 'whole' blood, people can donate platelets or
plasma, OR register with the bone marrow registry.

I see you have to weigh 110 pounds to donate!

I can't donate blood here in California, US.

The British Blood Donor Service don't want my blood anymore either, after 12
years of donating;
