My lungs tested at 46% of normal; compared to 28% a few weeks ago. I've
been off oxygen for weeks. I'm down to 2.5 mg of prednisone, weaning off
it. I finished my course of antibiotics.
But I still have a bad cough, although my sinuses have cleared up. I'm
coughing up a lot of stuff. I wonder if I need more antibiotics? I'll
ask the doctor.
They say I've acquired this bronchietasis and may always have to deal
with this cough and chest-clearing, but I'm not ready to believe it.
I feel the doctors don't really know -- they're kinda waiting to see.
Supposedly my case is quite unique (sigh, again...)
Thanks fot asking!

I think they can do a sputum test to check for infections.
I'm sorry you're going through this.
But it's good to hear that your lung function has improved despite being off
oxygen.
Hopefully, there's be more improvement with time and your doctor's help.

Glad to hear that the lung function was up from the last time. Sorry that
you are still coughing and bringing stuff up....but good that it is coughing
up if it is there.
Thought and prayers are with you for a speedier recovery!
Hugs,
Sherry
