Saw my doctor. (I love my doctor!!) He's keeping me on the same med, Norvasc
for another few weeks. Said he might tweak the dosage then but this new BP
stuff don't drop the BP instantly like the old meds do but rather takes
longer so it slowly reduces. He was not upset with my BP numbers said no
they are not good but not bad either just keep on. I go back the middle of
July and then mid August. He also gave me something for anxiety. Not
something I take every day but only when I feel myself in need of something.
Said that the anxiety levels are not helping me to reduce the BP. I told him
I'm feeling a little "stuck on scared". LOL But that's the way I feel when
my heart is jumping around and my pulse is racing. etc which apparently is
tied to the high BP. I don't want a heart attack or a stroke.
Now the really silly thing is his nurse measured me for height. I'm tall,
I've always been just a hair's breath under 5'9" so I just say 5-9. But she
measured me at 5'7" . What?????? I have not shrunk. Darn it when are they
going to get someone who is not 5' to measure me. I'm sorry but these little
nurses can't reach that high!!! Get a chair, honey!! I guess I need to do
that pencil against the door jam and see if I've shrank.
Okay, I'm old, I'm on BP meds and I'm shrinking????? Gosh, I hope not! I
still tower above most everyone I know.
Now for my really CGT: my granddaughter even said something today about how
I looked thinner. I saw a neighbor and her first comment to me was that I
had lost lots of weight. I love it!!! It's a lousy way to lose weight but
I'm doing it. I wonder if my pink nose, long ears and fluffy puff ball tail
are also noticeable? I figure at this rate nothing by the end of July will
fit me anymore. Hmmm, anyone need clothes??

Me too, it feels like others are shrinking...
Maybe you were a little slumping when she measured you?
other possibles....disks in the spine
other possible dowager's hump - top of spine, changes in the vertebra..

Scared! Stress ! Adrenal ! Adrenalin ! Stress hormones.. Do deep breathing,
relaxing tactic...
Even good stress like laughing sometimes made my BP go up...
Say Bev, have they checked your thyroid lately ?
