I take chloroquin and have been for going on 4 years now.
I noticed a huge improvement into the first year.... around 6-8
months and it got better up to about 12 months ... and has stayed
good and I am on a relatively low dose along with 5mg. of pred
daily.... my dosage is only 250 mg. daily.
Good luck if you are starting.... a good thing IMO.

Hi,
i took it for a while but could not tolerate it as it made me puke
violently.
It is supposed to be useful when you have skin problems and are likely to
be in a lot of unavoidable sunshine, I think. I have also heard if you are
on it for a while you need regular eye exams as it can cause a serious eye
problem (glaucoma?)

This is the first time i have replied to any of the mails posted on this
site, but have been reading them for a few months now. My name is Debi, i
was diagnosed in january this year so i'm still a little fresh to
everything. I'm 35 and am a palliative care nurse in the UK.
I have been taking chloroquine since diagnosis and this has really helped my
skin; starting dose 200mg BD, now down to 200mg in a morning; hope this
helps,
debi

Welcome to the group!
Incidentally, do you have a relative or partner who keeps Siamese cats?

Hi Debi, thanks for your input.
I am taking 155mg a day in the morning. How long did it take to feel the
effect?
Thanks
