I'll make this ultra-short.

no big deal, probably just the "inflammatory" conditions I have.  Rather
stressful but had a side trip to a pen store so that made it marginally more
tolerable. :P

I'm sure I won't be seeing her or any other hematologist again.  for a while
anyway.  let's hope.

more details later.

If there are really pen stores - I am in heaven. I am an office supply
freak -- love me a good pen. In almost an unhealthy way.... ;-)

well now see - you need a good fountain pen.  for those of us with hand
pain, there's nothing better than a pen that requires no pressure at all to
put ink on the page. :-)

My daughter's eyes glaze over when she goes into Office Depot.  It's a
family thing - even my brother has a "problem" - :-)  My US brother, not
virtual brother, Andy.

heh.. .many... in Houston there is Dromgoole's.  They call themselves a
stationery store but I'm sure most of their $$ are tied up in pen-ventory.
:-)  And they now have a big fountain pen logo on their sign.  In NY there
are at least two well-known pen stores, and probably more but I only recall
hearing about Fountain Pen Hospital and Joon.  In FL there is Levengers
which is not entirely a pen store but they sell a lot of pens. More like a
"expensive crap for people who have too much money store" (which would be
the same as "Jeffrey Stone" in my area. :P  )  In MI there's Oscar Braun
Pens.  and so on.  the only problem is that Dromgoole's is not in the best
neighbourhood so I can't go alone anymore.  Long, scary story, suspect
caught) and so I have to wait until I have less guilt to deal with and drag
hubby with me.  He has little or no interest in this stuff. They did have
the lead and erasers we like though - so he got something out of the trip
besides his wife's childlike response to a new pen!

Dromgoole's caters a lot to fountain pen nuts like me.  Including having
acquired the latest "micro-brewed" ink brand that the fountain pen community
is going nuts over because it's made by one of our own.

so yeah - there are pen stores.

oh... and Fahrneys. not sure where they live.

yes.. i am an addict.

Hope that's because the advice & treatment solved the problem, not
because you were maltreated :)

maltreated - hmm... a bit.. misjudged.  mildly ridiculed. treated like a 2.
y.o.  yeah.

but the main reason is because I believe that nothing is really wrong other
than the underlying connective tissue stuff and that was her take on the
issue so we've covered my rheumy's backside.
