Hi Bev,
Let us know what the doctor has to say. You obviously need something to help
you get rid of that bug.

Boy I can relate - I had a 3-week "virus" in '96.  Thank goodness I worked
for an MD 'cause she was tired of seeing me sick and i lost my voice and
everything.

Sure hope that the doc will not b.s. you and will help you.  At the very
least you need a z-pac or something like that.  Biaxin kicked *** on the bug
I had in '96.   I know they hate to give out antibiotics but 2 weeks is too
long to be so miserable so push back if you have to.  it may be plain ol'
ordinary sick now - but if it goes on it could lead to flaring and you don't
need that.  give 'em he**, Bev!

You go tell that dr to listen and get you some antibiotics!!!!!!

Thanks, guys!
I went to the doctor and he did give me an antibiotic plus some Sudafed type
thing and I questioned him about it raising my BP. He said it might but it
should really help me and I should monitor the BP - would my daughter do it?
Yes, probably. Any real upward trend and I need to stop it. He also gave me
a week pass to get out of working - Yippee!!

I adore this guy! I even told him about the chiropractor for the trigeminal
neuralgia and the acupuncture for it. We talked about Neurotin (sp?) and
Tegretol (sp?) and the side effects. He was really pleased to hear that the
acupuncture worked for me. He said it really works well for so many things
but that people are afraid of it. He said he didn't understand the details
of how it works because he's never had the opportunity to study it. But that
concept of neuropathways is not unknown in the regular medical community. He
was really pleased that this worked because of the meds he'd have to give me
if I came to him.

I think my job has me so ticked off that I'm ready to quit. Is it because
I've been sick and working? Maybe. And when you are sick every little thing
drives you nuts.

Then my darling GD took her purse to school the other day because it was a
switch houses sort of day between here and mom's so she took her purse. It
contained the key to my house plus $$$$, plus several gift cards. With the
gift cards she probably had close to $100 in there. She also had things like
her library card , her museum passes, etc. It was stolen off the seat beside
her while she was on the school bus. She thinks it was the girl who sat
behind her. But she doesn't know the kid's name so the school won't do
anything about it. GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, she should have never taken
it to school.

My friend is in town - she sold her house 2 years ago and has been RVing
ever since. She was going to stop by and I was too sick to see her so
hopefully I will be better and up to a visit in the next couple of days.
Besides a whole bunch of us are going to get together Thursday for lunch
with her at an old hang-out.

So here I am with Rx's to be filled. Just knowing I don't have to work is
making me very happy. I'm a little worried about the one Rx but I'll try it.
I think I'll take a 1/2 pill the first time. I've got to get my house
cleaned up. I've made a big dent but there is lots to do!! I still feel like
cr*p. And my oldest is getting married on the 29th so I have lots to do next
week! One day at a time, tiny baby steps. Creep, creep. LOL

Geez, Bev.  What a crummy time you've had!  When Cindy mentioned you
having this last August, I remembered you had a really bad time getting
rid of it.  So, please rest while you have some time off.  Have lotsa
fun with the girls, just keep it healthy & get well in time for the
wedding. This may include letting the housework go though...thought
you'd like to hear that. <wink>

Hugs,
Maggie

Thanks Karina,
Yes, I'm feeling better - not great but better. The antibiotic seems to be
working and I am not reacting strangely to it. I just didn't bother to take
the med that could raise my BP. I figured since I have enough problems
taking an antibiotic I wasn't going to start both of them at the same time.
And since I'm doing so well on this antibiotic do I really need the other
stuff? I don't think so. LOL
