Hi, I have a question, has anyone had unexplained weight loss with your
Lupus?I'm unsure what is causing my weight drop. Also I'm having memory
slowness or some loss also. I have had for 2 years in a row Pyelonephritis.
Thanks.

Hello Carol and welcome to alt.support.lupus
It's quiet these days on newsgroup.
I've seen "weight loss" mentioned with increased disease activity.

and "Weight loss or poor appetite: Weight loss over the previous year is
commonly reported by people who are newly diagnosed with lupus. Weight loss and
poor appetite can be caused by the illness itself or by some medications that
may cause stomach upset or mouth sores (also called mouth ulcers). "

There's several here with Pyelonephritis (or related). I know when I used to
get them I always had a low-grade "ugh factor" (nausea).  Is that's what
happening with you? How bad is the weight loss?

Our "slim-chick" (BJ) may pop in to say hello to you.

I mostly wanted to say welcome and hugs to  ( ( ( Carol ) ) )

Hi Carol,
I would like to welcome you. Please feel free to tell us more about
yourself. It is always nice to talk to someone new. Weight loss is one of my
first signs of disease activity. It happens whether I have a good appetite
or not. My hair also begins to fall out. There are a number of other
symptoms that occur along with the weight loss. There are a lot of things
that can cause you to lose weight. Do you have any blood tests results that
you wish to share with us? That may help us in our discussions with you.

I lost weight with my Lupus attack. Are you eating? How's your appetite?
( I should probably read the replies...)
