Hi everyone!

It seems I have done it again... meaning that I have gotten a whiff of
something that is a respiratory irritant to me, and then come straight down
with a cough and/or cold.  This happened to me last year too, right after
breathing something to which I was sensitive.

Does anybody else get this?

Hugs Grace, Have you talked to your oncologist?
After chemo, sometimes more than one type of infection can occur. (fungal and
bacterial) or ask your doctor about this.
I'm worrying about you. I don't want them to have to put a tube in to remove
fluids.
When I see the words "struggling", it worries me about your breathing...

Oh yes, oncologist, lung specialist, CT scan, lung xrays, pulmonary function
tests.

I'm on 'short-term' prednisone, 40 mg, to try to bring down the inflammation. I
have a puffer... prednisone is a common asthma medication. The doctors say it's
not cancer, i,t's not lupus, it's not chemo toxicity, it's not TB....

It looks like an infection (but what??) on top of asthma (which I didn't have
previously). It doesn't respond to antibiotics -- they haven't found anything in
their cultures... it's been months. Anyhow, we're trying the steroids for 2 more
weeks.

My lung function is way down.

Meanwhile, most of me was going  -- AIEEE, no prednisone -- because I was totally
off it -- but the addict in me was going YES, YES.... I feel a bit manic, with
energy and a much-needed appetite.

I told my husband, except for the cough, I feel really good. "Yes, but you're
hopped up on drugs..."

Hmm....yes......
