Hi Janers,
Did you go to the doctor yesterday to see about your blood pressure/Imuran
problem? How about an update.

Yes, I went, with my list in hand of bp's through out the day, for 3 days.
It was the high being when we went to get flowers, on Sunday.  140/86 but
nothing big. all other times it was very low for me, or 98/60, 111/70  and
pulse was low too in the 50.

But the weekend, I cut down myself one pill in half and I felt a lot better
doing that.

NOW for the kicker.  Went to doc, with my cuff, got in with nurse after
standing my ground.  She took bp and I took it with my cuff.
YOU will not believe this, it was 180/95 with each cuff, and that was 3 of
them.  I was floored to say the least , made no sense and the time was
10:30 am.  I had taken all meds at 8am.  figure that one out.
So this was monday right, doc was going to call me and tell me what to do
right?  NO way, she never did.  I went walking around and felt aweful,
headache the full monty.  So I had my bp taken, it had dropped to 111/60
another dumb thing and this was 4:30pm same day.  Following me?  I got lost
myself here.
I waited the full day and NO one called me back.  I am so upset it ain't
funny.

I got up, got blood tests this am, and figured since the bp was so darn
high yesterday with half a pill, I would go back to taking what she wanted
me to in the beginning.  I did, and by an hour an half after doing so this
morning, I felt like I did last week, when all this started. whammo.
dizzy, felt bad the full thing.
so I called the heart doc and told same nurse about what happened last
night with low bp again, and told her what I did today, and wondered why NO
call back.  OH I will tell her, and she will call you later.
HEre I set at 4:30pm and NO call back.  I am so angry I can spit nails.
I do not know where to go with this anymore.  Rheumy says let heart doc
take care of it.  does not think imuran now cause I am only on 50mg now.
I told nurse if heart doc wants another opinion, I will go to another doc.
fine.
but nothing is yet.
And you can darn bet, I am NOT taking a full pill again tomorrow, cause we
have to go somewhere for a couple days, with hubby, in motor home.  close
to here but away.
I gave them my cell phone number if they decide by SOME day they want to
talk to me.

see me angry LOL

well sometimes, ya gotta do, what ya gotta do
right?
please tell me I am right.

Hi Janers,
Believe it or not, I did follow what you were saying. <g> I don't think that
you are feeling so lousy because of low blood pressure. A bp of 111/60
should not make you feel that way. Actually, it is a very nice pressure. It
must be something else doing it. The bp thing might only be accompanying
what ever the something else happens to be. I would be inclined to take my
regular amount of bp med, until the doctor told me otherwise. After all,
taking 1/2 produced an a.m. bp of 180/95. That would concern me more. Have a
good time while you are away. You sound like you are really ticked off and
need time to cool. <g> Darn doctors!

Hi BJ

again, thanks for you concern.  Doc just called, believe that at 6pm?

she looked over the list I gave her as well as the monitor and came to the
conclusion, that the one pill is too much right now, so I have to cut that
one, in half in am and pm.  That means one of the meds is counteracting in
the morning and not helping the bp.  I am used to the low pressure but she
said the feelings I am getting is due to the three different meds.  NOW to
figure out which one is doing the messing me up here.

I have to monitor my bp while away and call right away next week to give
them an idea if this works.  The one I did cut down IS not the one she
wants me too.
She did say the bp is making the problems, not because it is too low, it is
because it is swinging hi and low so drastically.
I agree that bp I mentioned to you is a good thing.  I am not complaining
about that <BG>, I was worried the spikes and the lows would cause a
stroke, my mom died of one that way.  NO one paid attention to that little
tid bit on her.
If you bp is not fairly stable that can very well happen to you, stroke
out.  Makes the heart wonder where and how hard it should beat.
so the bp is the problem, now to figure out the right doseage of meds and
which one, till then?  I am a guinne pig for the cardiac nuts LOL

I thank you again for your concern, and so glad to have friends like you
that worry about me

Swings make sense to me. Splitting the pill also makes sense. I also wonder
how accurate your BP cuff is. Might have the rescue squad check it every
once in a while you could have them check your cuff and then take it with
their equipment. Just to make sure it is accurate.

I know if I say don't worry too much about it that it is not going to make
you not worry about it. But go have fun in the MH. And try not to think
about it too much.

YOU ARE RIGHT!!
Color you ANGRY and righteously so!
I feel so bad for you.... maybe get a second opinion from another
doc?
There is no excuse for any doctor not doing call backs!
Hugs to you and have a good couple of days with your MOTH.... get
some cooling off time anyhow!
