Sorry again, I didn't realize you were about to ask a Lupus queston
anti-dsDNA?

dsDNA is considered highly specific for SLE. It does occur occasionally in
other autoimmune diseases but not typically in high amounts.
I believe with the other positive test (ANA) and other symptoms that most
docs would look at the dsDNA and be strongly steered toward Lupus as a
diagnosis.

I *think* dsDNA is pretty specific to SLE - but I'm not a doctor.
Thirst, however, isn't. Have you any dryness symptoms (I'm thinking
Sjogrens)? Could it be diabetes? It is possible to have all three of
these in the same person at the same time (eg my wife!)

well, I tested negative for diabetes but I do have symptoms of Sj?gren's Syndrome.
My lab tests from last summer and fall don't indicate having positive SSA or SSB
antibodies then but my ANA, SED and dsDNA were all very high plus my most recent
dsDNA results were off the scale high. I go back to the rheumatologist in 3 weeks.
I'm guessing I'll get an SLE diagnosis with a dash of Sj?gren's thrown in for
flavoring.

Good catch, Andy.
I had a 2-hour glucose testing. Some people tell me the 6-hour is better?
