hello all...

my pred. is down to 5mg (started on last Saturday), i don't feel good at
all. i feel really tired, my fingers and palm will swell at times, my knees
don't feel too good, my legs feels bloated, and my toes looks a little
swollen. It hurts when i walk and now i have this really bad headache and it
wouldn't go no matter how much i sleep.

is this all in my mind? or due to pred. withdrawal. should i until my next
appointment??

thanks all..

how much was your pred decrease?  At anything below 10, I can't decrease
more than 1mg at a time without symptoms.
I hope you feel better soon.

I agree with Mair, how much did you drop it?

I do the 1mg drop when I taper.  Doing it now, since on imuran but I get
that feeling just like you are describing.  Hold on, it will pass but
sometimes you kinda wonder if it will.   I just keep thinking  " DON"T give
up yet?"   It seems the pain comes back two fold. Some darn days it
actually does.
So if you can maybe do a warm shower, or bath or hot tub for the pain.  I
usually have to take pain pills but it passes in time.

I am fighting right now, with whether to take the celebrex along with
imuran while dropping the medrol.  So Far I haven't done it but boy the
days I hurt, well I sure as "H" could LOL

So hang in there bin.   but again, if you tapered too too fast?  Be
careful.  And don't go doing it with out the docs approval, you may not be
ready for it and your inflammation is still high.  Which means, you will be
put back on it asap, unless he feels differently for you.  Been there done
that.

good luck

According to her post in mid March, she was reduced from 15 to 10mg (and planned
reduction of 5 mg in April).
So should she go back up to 10 and start reducing by 1 mg?

Hello all, thanks for your kind and caring reply.

Not so good news, my joints were swollen and I felt like a real 'crap' for
the past three days. Today, I went to see a proper rheumatologist, and he
put me on 15mg pred., voltaren and several other funny looking drugs. It
cost me a bomb though!!

I'll be seeing him next week with all my bloodworks reports from the other
doc. More $$$$ . Sigh!!

I'll keep all of you posted, again, thanks for caring!!

Hope everyone is feeling all right!!

Lots of love, bin
