Hi there everyone,
I am looking for some helpful advice and thought this was the place to
do it!
For about three years I have suffered extreme fatigue/neurological
functions and are having real trouble getting any sort of diagnosis.
The symptoms are
- very low level of alertness / consciouness
- I sometimes describe it as feeling drunk
- confusion
- memory impariment and cognitive impairment
- impaired spatial awarness
- At a bad time of day I can been completely dibilitated by
these symptoms
Incedently the only 100% accurate description of my symptoms that I
have read from others relates to Lyme disease. Although they are
identical it is impossible for me to have Lyme. That has lead me to
believe that maybe I have someother Central Nervous System Involvment.
I am in a fog all the type but these symptoms can become signigicantly
worse often under certain circumstances:
- sometimes noticable worse after I eat - perhaps
especially high carbohydrate meals
- much much worse if I try and fast or skip a meal
- during after exercise.
I have been tested for many things including all the obvious diabetic
causes e.t.c I have no signs of depression or related ilness.
After many many blood tests the only thing of interest is Postivie
Antinuclear antibodies (ANA) 1 : 640 and evevated liver enzymes.
I guess my real question is
1 - is there any chance I could have CNS Lupus?
2. - What are the tests for Lupus and what symptoms would you expect
to see.
Your help is Much appreciated.

Hi Ray:
Try this site:
http://clik.to/lupus
and click on the link CNS lupus
on the left side.... on that page you will find the description,
a link to the symptoms for diagnosis and
a link to a story about a med. prof. with cns lupus who tells all
about her symptoms, problems and life with cns lupus... btw, she
is also a member of this newsgroup.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Of course you would be tired if your legs twitch all night.
Has the doctor checked your B12 levels?
Anemia?
Which test did you have for diabetes? The 2 or 6 hour glucose challenge?
Perhaps it needs rechecking.
What medications are you currently taking?
What is your age, Ray?
Hang in there and work on the above first.
Will try to help step by step.
PS If you did have Lupus, you would stay out of the sun and protect
yourself from UV rays.
