I've recently been called "narcissistic" and "Eeyore" for sharing some
of my fears around the possibility of losing my Medicaid (Medi-Cal)
coverage that pays for all my meds including the life-saving but very
expensive Cell Cept for lupus.

It occurred to me that I may be looking for support in the wrong
place!  I really can't expect people unfamiliar with lupus to begin to
understand the trials and tribulations of living with the physical,
emotional, social, and financial challenges this disease can pose.

So I'm dipping a toe in here :)  Please don't shove the cure-all diet
or exercise program of the month on me, call me a whiner, pick on my
weight (I was on prednisone from 1985 to this year), be angry with me
for "living off " of your tax money, etc...

and hugs for each of you :)

Pam

Welcome. I'm sure there are a few out here that have been down those same
roads with Medi-Cal and can probably offer some help.

We're pretty used to people not understanding the problems of course it
still frustrates us. But we also celebrate the little things we do
accomplish (CGT's). So often this disease has to be measured in small
increments.

Hi Pam,
This is the right place to find support. There are many understanding and
helpful people here. You are right. I believe you have to have lupus or some
other chronic illness to really know what it is like. Talk to us about
anything. I would like to welcome you.

well - you'll find none of that nonsense here.  We've been through it
all.  The group's FAQ "prohibits" (in as  much as is feasible on the
'net) the posting of "snake oil" and other "cures."  When asked, we
are all more than willing to share our experiences with things that
*help* but we are all very realistic about how different bodies react
differently.

This is a great group with not only a lot of knowledge and experience
but a lot of support and caring.

welcome and pull up a chair (preferably with a lot of cushions.)
