Hi Everyone,
I drove to my daughter's house on Friday. I arrived in the nick of time.
Freezing rain hit shortly after I got there, and the highways were
dangerous. We ordered Chinese food, rented a movie, and pigged out on
popcorn. We went window shopping on Saturday, once the ice melted. We went
for walks that day too. It was sunny and not too cold. I drove home on
Sunday. That was the only hard part. I came in the door and was greeted by
my old dog. It really hit me that my little Golden was gone and would not be
part of the welcoming committee anymore.

Hi BJ
I am so glad for you that you had such a nice visit with your
daughter. I know that I miss my own daughter very much and love
it when I get to fly up to see her on my own. Your 'walks and
talks' together probably did more good for you than any med
could;
your CGT was not very cheesy at all... just very good!
I am so sorry your little golden is gone. Your older one must
miss her terribly much too!
.... my thoughts are with you.
Hugs from Shelagh

So glad you had a good time, sorry you were reminded of your loss, on
returning home though. Remember time heals.

Hi BJ, Good to see you back.
That weather just won't let up out there eh?
I'm glad you finally got some quality time with your daughter, it's been a long
time coming.
Thank goodness for Kiera, she's a good old girl for hanging in there with you
for so long.
How are you doing with those photos? I was wondering if there's such a thing as
putting some in a shadow box?
it came to mind when I saw an advert at the variety store. Someone doing a home
biz.
Each routine reminds us eh? When I'm out with the BB, the absence of the other
just screams at me.
I used to love our walks, now they're not the same.

You sound much happier after your daughter visit.
Piging out on popcorn , mmmm , I mix sour cream with 1/4 peeled cucumber in
the food processor sprinkle of sea salt for a dip . last the whole movie one
kernel at a time :))
I do think now that your home coming greet can end your sadness over the
young golden girl.

Hi Bruce
our birds are back here too.... not many of them leave but some
do go to different areas... I just saw a redwing blackbird for
the first time ever, a beauty of a bird
... I believe that is called a 'lifer' by the legitimate
ornithologists (sp?)... when you see a bird you have never seen
before?

Some neat birds in our little neck of the woods:
Orioles; Rufous Sided Towhee (Chewink? Chewink!);Piliated Woodpeckers,
Goldfinches; Bluebirds. It is nice to think on such things.

I'm so happy that you had a good time with your daughter! I'm so
sorry that the welcoming committee has been reduced by one. Here's to
many more such trips to your daughter's house.

Oh, it sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your daughter. Although it
seems you always have a really nice time when you visit her. And that is
just so special.
But I know what you mean about walking back into the house and missing
someone. I still expect mine to be around the corner or under the dinning
room table. The silence is deafening.
