Do they use confocal microscopy and IHC stains in diagnosing
amyloidosis?

And why do you now feel you have amyloidosis ?

This question is not related to me in any way. I was just learning
about all the cool microscopy and staining techniques used in AP labs.

I have no idea why you are asking about amyloidosis. My aunt died of
this fairly rare disease two years ago. It took them quite awhile to
diagnosis it and I believe a liver biopsy is the only definitive way to
do it. It is considered a disease of middle-aged people, according to
this hard-to-read .pdf file. There are only about 3000 people per year
diagnosed with this condition. She was in her 60's when she was
diagnosed. She had very vague symptoms for a couple of years before they
finally figured out what was going on. Sadly, she did not live near me
and I don't know much about the progression of her disease, other than
it was her cause of death. I do know that there are few places in the
U.S. that handle treatment for amyloidosis.

Also, this one, but it's down for maintenance right at this moment:

I'll bite - why do you want to know?

Because I was reading about confocal microscopy in a book I have, and
IHC staining online, and I wanted to know if that's how the AP dxs
amyloidosis.

That's done in pathology and I have no idea what they do over there.
Anybody know?
