Trying to settle a $5 bet with a co-worker. Would an EKG Tech or a
Phlebotomist have a need to use a stethoscope during their routine
duties? Would appreciate an answer from someone who knows for sure -
thanks.

Not sure what you mean by "EKG Tech ", but a phlebotomist has no need of a
stethoscope.
Have you got one pretending to be a doctor?

EKG techs know where to place the leads. I've never seen one use a
stethoscope. I've never seen a phlebotomist use one either.
Where to you guys work???? If it's a hospital you need to look around
more closely at what is going on around you...

Phlebotomists at our hospital perform autologous blood donations and
theraputic phlebotomy for
patients with hemochromatosis and polycythemia. Part of this process
involves taking vital signs before and after the procedure. So yes ,
they do use a stethoscope when measuring blood pressure.
