KILLING ME.I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK AS TO WHAT TO DO.

SGPT is an indicator of liver function. If it is elevated something is going
on. The most obvious question is - what does your doctor say? Do you have
any other enzymes that are elevated (LDH, SGOT, GGTP)? What is your
bilirubin? Since you did not post the normal range for this test, and every
lab is different, make SURE you follow up with your doctor on this abnormal
result. Don't let him avoid you. You must listen to what he has to say.
Elevated liver function tests have many causes. Some are more sensitive than
others.

Having battled weight problems myself your numbers indicate you are battling
it also. That may or may not have anything to do with your numbers. Again,
the doc ordered this blood work for some reason. Why? What was your CC
(chief complaint)?

may have to scroll down for liver function assays.

I REALLY DIDN'T HAVE A  CC,JUST TIRED.MY IRON IS LOW SO I HAVE ANEMIA.
CHOLESTEROL IS 260.TRIGLYCERIDES 77, HDL 85.7 ,LDL 159.I KNOW THIS IS HIGH.MY
SGOT IS 59 NORMAL BEING 8-42 AND MY ALT/SGPT IS 86 NORNAL BEING 7-40. I'M
THINKING FATTY LIVER DISEASE. MY DOC ORDERED MORE LIVER TESTS SO I'LL TAKE IT
FROM THERE I GUESS.BUT I KNOW IT COULD BE FROM OTHER FACTORS. I'M NOT A
DRINKER-I ONLY DRINK 2-3 ON OCCASIONS.I JUST HEARD IT COULD ALSO BE CANCER SO
I'M ALITTLE WORRIED. THANKS FOR THE INPUT.  :)

If you are taking paracetamol (acetaminophen, tylenol) it can cause
raised AST. You need to see your doctor again not ask for advice over
the internet.

Try not to SHOUT. It's not a good idea to keep your caps lock on.

Shell:

I was also thinking acetaminophen overdose, especially since it was
mentioned you had back pain. Overdosage of Tylenol can be very dangerous!
If you are taking it, try stopping and ask your doctor for something else,
if it's truly back pain you're dealing with and not just a symptom of
something else.

Your cholesterol is pretty high also. Again, you really need to follow up
with your doctor. Were you fasting when you had the blood drawn? Fasting
will give false results on HDL and LDL. It shouldn't affect the cholesterol
results.

Writing in ALL CAPS is considered SHOUTING on the internet.

Call your doctor!

Many many things many of them harmless can cause an increase in liver
enzymes.   Given your age and weight, and not knowing anything else, I
wonder, have you had an ultrasound of your gallbladder?    Don't answer that
here.
